Great view, amazing seating on the hillside, good food, although I wouldn't recommend the paneer. Very cute trinket shop. Good parking for bikes. Perfect for the feel that you look for in a place like Hampi.

Just loved the open, mountain-side setting of this - restaurant? eatery? whatever! Kids - and we too - loved the sit-down, plantain-leaf experience. Eating simple but delicious fare under mango-trees beats any other ambience. And the view of the Tungabhadra from where you're sitting is beautiful - it must be really wonderful when the river is full. If in Hampi,...

Among all the changes that keep taking place within Hampi City (the Hampi bazaar has all but disappeared and most of the commercial and residential establishments have been razed to the ground), the one constant is Mango tree. pretty much unchanged in terms of the setting and culinary offerings, this Hampi institution has managed to retain its charm and clientele...

Traveling with three other college students, we were told to make sure we found Mango Tree for at least a meal or two. While no longer at its previous location, the food was definitely worth it. After four months in southern India, it was nice to have muesli, curd and fresh fruit. The banana pancakes were a hit. Even though...

Mango Tree may have shifted base but it is still a great hit with tourists. Raju the guy who runs it is very nice and friendly. The food and the atmosphere of this place is great. They make something called parotta which is like a pie. They are a must try. A few of the German and Australian tourists we...

Difficult to find the way, but since everyone knows about the place, you are directed well. Food isn't extraordinary, but you like to have it relaxed with a open view of the river. Ordered ginger honey lemon tea, with a rice meal. The relaxing meal took away the effect of tiring heat
very basic, sit on concrete with no cushions, have to climb over tables to get seated when busy. Food wasn't that great. It's a very long walk to find the place. Slightly over rated by the lonely planet in our opinion.
I was at Mango Tree's new location in Hampi on March 30 for dinner and March 31 for lunch. It is very much there and serves tasty food at reasonable rates (compared to taste and variety). It feels like an international oasis in a village. The owner assured me that this was a permanent place. It has thatch walls and...

For info, the restaurant no longer exists as it has been demolished (as have all the other businesses located in the neighbouring area). We went there yesterday (6th April 2013) and the only place to eat in Hampi now is the local Govt lodge.
Awesome food variety and very tasty food. All manners of shakes, Indian food, Firang food with all kinds of chutneys, honey, cheeses etc to go with the grub. Something for every palate.
