This shop was worth the stop just for the samples. I highly recommend the blue cheese stuffed olives kept in the deli case. (Perishable, but more flavorful than the jarred variety we tried)

We stopped at the Olive Pit to each lunch, but ended up going across the street to something faster. Nevertheless, they had several varieties of olives to taste (for free) and they also had a room at the back for tasting beer and wine (for a fee). There is a small diner for lunch, but we found the menu to... More

I normally wouldn't have stopped at a place like this, being somewhat adverse to tourist traps, but a friend wanted some specialty olives. While there we decided to grab a bite to eat. I was plesantly surprised by the quality of the sandwich. Far better than the surrounding choices. Unique milk shakes added a bit of adventure.

Forget what goes through your mind when you see the signs leading up to this place. It's like any highway tourist trap featuring a lame sandwich and burger ordering window featuring food you could get at a truck stop. There is nothing gourmet about this place.

This is a review of the restaurant, not the shop. The shop is fun with olive, olive oil, and wine tasting. The restaurant is in the shop, and we were expecting something quite special from the restaurant. The setting is fairly pleasant with WiFi, but signs warning that the WiFi could only be used for 15 minutes. It is order... More

The Olive Pit really isn't what I would call a restaurant. It is a retail shop & an attraction. Every time that we pass through Corning, we stop & buy many jars of olives. I checked out their website before embarking on our road trip to California. I was happy to see that they had added a wine tasting area... More

I only dropped in once for lunch but was very pleased. The soup was terrific and the sandwich was delicious. Will be sure to drop in again the next time I am in Corning
