All five of us really enjoyed our meal and the casual ambiance. The prices are reasonable, and no complaints on the service. We sat downstairs in the restaurant which was calm and quiet. Upstairs in the Moonlight Lounge things were buzzing and happening which would be great to meet friends for Happy Hour or a fun energetic meal. Something for... More

Enjoyed the Roasted Jidori Chicken Salad Sandwich, tossed with Grapes and Spiced Pecans. It was a Wednesday afternoon and sunny (for a change along the coast), so what's not to like? The wait staff was attentive and prompt. Nice, clean, environment. Might have given a better rating if I had tried more entrees, etc. My other friends recommend this as... More

I thought we'd stumbled upon a cool upstairs oyster bar until they told us the kitchen closed at 9pm. Yes it was a Sunday, but 9pm? A bar/restaurant in a beach side town? We managed to talk them into getting us a few oysters...which were fairly fresh...and then it was last call. Decent wine list too. The place was packed... More

While this was a great location I was not overly impressed with the food, a little disappointed since it cam highly recommended. Perhaps I was expecting too much, food selection was very good and maybe I made a bad choice, Bloody Mary was good though.

The quinoa and hazelnut veggie burger was very good. We added avocado and mushrooms. The grilled cheese with tomato soup was very disappointing. The sandwich was two very thick pieces of butter bread with almost nonexistent cheese and tomato. The tomato was paper thin and almost indistinguishable from the paper thin slice of bacon that we paid extra for. There... More

I have eaten here in the evening in the downstairs restaurant but at lunch time, you are ushered upstairs. Even though it was partially empty when we arrived, the waitress insisted on seating us right next to another diner, with only what seemed like inches between the tables. It was so awkward, that we moved but as more diners came... More

Just want to say that again Solace delivered with an outstandingly fresh tasty lunch today. The quinoa burger is amazing! I had mine without the bun but added mushrooms and avocados. It was just what I needed. Service is also very good and you never feel rushed here at this nice little gem downtown Encinitas.

Just got back from enjoying a wonderful brunch at Solace & Moonlight Lounge on Super Bowl Sunday. We were warmly welcomed by Kelsey, and taken upstairs where I noticed the delighful and warm decor. Our waiter was David, and he was personable and attentive. We started with a Bellini cocktail, which was the right touch for me.....champagne with peach puree.... More

Southern California vibe in a modern wood interior setting. Food is basic and healthy with a twist of gourmet pairings. Well located in and among some cool shops for browsing.

This is a great spot for an evening of drinking cocktails and sucking back oysters and other tasty treats. Go upstairs to the bar or the big table and on Sunday they have live music, sort of a strange day, but it works.
