We ate a late night meal at the Rongbranch and it did not. The service was pleasant and the meal was above average. Remember this is a resturant designed for tourist and quick servings.

Where do I begin? Ordered a turkey dinner which turned out to be turkey lunch meat. Artichoke pasta seemed thrown together, more artichoke than pasta as if they were trying to get rid of it and the food was barely room temperature! What a disappointment!

We had high hopes for the homemade chicken pot pie. The crust was good but the inside was just average.

My husband and I make trips to Julian several times a year. The pie at Mothers is wonderful and we buy eggs at the Egg ranch on the way up. We've always eaten before we leave home but this time we didn't and decided to eat at the Rongbranch Rest. The service was great but the food was the worse... More

Of course its the only place going in the middle of winter on a weekday. Got a seat right away although the restaurant was packed. Unfortunately was seated where I could see the pick up area for the staff, and watched our waitress pick food off of all the yet to be served plates for 1 1/2 hrs while we... More

I wanted Buffalo, my wife wanted a salad, we both wanted Pie. We got in late, checked in and walked around town. Most places close at 5:00. These folks are open most nights till 10:00. We saw the sign on the side that had Buffalo, Salads and the Best Pie, amongst other items and gave them a shot. My buffalo... More

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Julian for our anniversary. We had the burgers and onion rings. Very good, like homemade.

We made a loop from San Diego to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. It was a beautiful Sunday drive. We had lunch timed for Julian and we found large crowds. The Rongbranch was a bit off the main street, and we were so glad we found it. The lunch menu was varied, and everyone was able to get just enough... More

This is a big restaurant and not fancy. The food is adequate, but nothing special. Service was excellent and prices are reasonable, not always true in a tourist town.

We were in Julian camping with a group. We went to the Rongbranch for lunch. There were 12 of us. Half kids and half adults. They handled our large party with no problem. The menu was varied and had something for everyone. Prices were fair. Service was great and fast. Everyone was happy. The chicken pot pie was great and... More
