Description: Known for manning the stoves at high-end restaurants Rex and Vincenti, Chef Gino Angelini is dishing out quality Italian fare at his own place. Even the most been-there-ate-that gourmand will savor the simple, yet sublime starters, from the paper-thin pizzas to the steamed mussels and clams bathing in a garlic-infused broth. Nonna Elvira's green lasagna is a dozen layers of bliss with blankets of pasta enveloping a mild cheese. Continue with a deliciously soft, moist branzino (salt-encrusted sea bass), or a pork chop sided with braised red cabbage. Desserts deserve special attention, such as a buttery mascarpone, or a scoop of vanilla gelato with a shot of steaming espresso.

The restaurant is very popular due to their wonderful food. This creates a big problem. You are elbow to elbow with your fellow diners. You can hear their conversations and they can hear yours. You are rushed through dinner-something that would never happen in Italy.Although the food tastes like a good restaurant in Italy everthing else is LA! More trouble than it is worth.

This small restaurant just off the street, with valet parking, was an unexpected gem. We were told about it by our valet at our hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the great "real" Italian food presented. The meal was simply scrumptious. We loved the burratta dish as a starter. Very fresh and tasty. They also had zucchini flowers which were... More

Gino is a genius. Small restaurant, hard to snag a table, try it for lunch if you cannot get in for dinner.

You sure need reservations to get into this restaurant on weekends, but it's worth a wait. The food is incredible. The service is very good, but the ambience is just ok. The prices on the regular menu are a great value, too. Some specials are a bit pricey - but overall you can do well for $40 per person for... More

Celebrated my husband's birthday. We were seated exactly at our reservation time, they brought us a great bread basket and fergola salad to start . We ordered a glass of champagne, two were offered but he said they only had one (of course the more expensive) . We wanted to order a starter ( tuna tartare) but the waiter told... More

Italian food respects the integrity of the food as a key to delivering a beautiful experience. Angelini owns this philosophy. Flawless presentation and perfect food delivers a supremely authentic moment in eating. Homemade pastas,..sick and rich.

We were visiting friends and they wanted to take us to their favorite restaurant. Good food; two of us split the Turbot; it was good enough, but not fantastic. Both husbands ordered the special liver dish which they both enjoyed. The bread and thin cracker bread are delicious. We started with stuffed zucchini blossoms which were out of this world... More

Great food, nice ambience...I'm from Italy and I can tell you I did not feel any difference, it was like being at home..all the servers and cooks were italian too, which is good.. however, they took 20 minutes to sit us and the hostess was very rude, which surprised me considering the location. Anyway, I definitely recommend it for the... More
