There's usually a daily special that's an even better deal. The tostada is good, fresh and lighter than the cheesy platters.

I found this gem back in the early 90's. Loved the hole in the wall Mexi restaurant with a locals beach vibe. Ordered the Super Deluxe burrito and an orange bang. The late night hours are great and price was reasonable. My wife loved it too. It's a must visit any time we're in SoCal.
Sometimes I come back to LA (3-5k miles) Just for there Steak Taco's and cheese enchiladas. I love this food and want it as my last meal.
There's nothing better than a hole-in-the-wall dive with FABULOUS food. Head for the El Tarasco in Manhattan Beach on Rosecrans Avenue (there are several, but go to this one). It is TEENY, with one long bar and that's it! If it is nice weather, they also have an outdoor patio in the back that is actually very nice, but rustic...

SoCal has alot of Mexican restaurants and for me, the best Mexican is found in dives. El Tarasco is the best of them all! No tables. Just a counter, soccer blaring on the TV and a wall to lean your surfboard against. The food is great. The service is fast, no B.S. And the prices can't be beat. Try it...

If you like taco's, this is the place to go. They are open late and the food is very tasty. I think I went three times in the 3 days I was there.
Had the carne asada taco plate... Wow... They dont make mexican food like this in the midwest. I miss this place
working up an appetite surfing, biking, running, ... el tarasco is a great little place for authentic mexican. about two blocks up from the beach on the main drag. lots of (paid) covered parking just across the street. in "down town manhattan beach. enourmous portions so come hungry. they are most known for their buritos with sour cream and guacamole....

El Tarasco's in Manhattan Beach is great. I've tried a few in the inner city and wasn't as impressed. They stay open late so if you're coming from one of the local hang outs this is a great location for a late night inexpensive quick meal. Very small, limited seating but great authentic Mexican food!
We were recommended by our hotel The SeaView Inn to go to this tiny perfect gem. The place at first is not inviting at all. There are very few tables and carryout seems to be the thing to do. We ate at the counter where I observed the staff constantly cleaning. I am a clean freak so I noticed that...
