The Sardine Factory has that cachet—world leaders, sports heroes and entertainment icons have made a tradition of dining in our historic Cannery Row setting. Our award-winning chefs prepare delectable creations of fresh, sustainable seafood and USDA Prime & Dry Aged Beef for you alone, and the warm, friendly service will make you feel like a regular. A choice from the wine collection complements any dish—after all, we won the Wine Spectator "Best of Award of Excellence." We loved our dining experience at the Sardine Factory where we were warmly welcomed, seated quickly in the impressive Gazebo Room and given excellent service. The menu had a fabulous selection. My husband devoured his jumbo prawn cocktail while I enjoyed the mixed salad with shrimp. We both ordered fish - wild salmon for hubby and salmon halibut mixed grill... More

We were celebrating our 31st Anniversary, but didn't want a big meal, so we decided to go here and take advantage of the wonderful lounge menu during happy hour. We were treated like we were the only ones there. Not only were our drinks (martini and gimlet) superb, but the pizzetta and calamari dishes were stellar. Service was warm and... More

On the route from LA to San Francisco we have stayed one night in Monterey (Spindrift Inn).Walking around in Monterey we could not find a restaurant that we liked. The lady at the reception advised us the Sardine Factory.Thank you.We have had a great dinner in the "glasshouse".Funny enough they only had one sardine dish on the menu, but that was great.The... I read about this place everywhere. The food was fantastic. I had the butter poached halibut and roasted pork belly and the hubby had scallops and jasmine rice. Sit in the atrium for a wonderful view.

We've lived on the Monterey Peninsula for 35 years, but always avoided the Sardine Factory because of its location in very touristy Cannery Row. What idiots we've been! We finally went last month after a friend's recommendation and could not have had better food or service. The restaurant is in its fifth decade of operation and the years of experience... More

I love to go there. One of the places featured in the Clint Eastwood movie "Play Misty For Me." Previous visit in the dining room was terrific, great food, wonderful ambiance. This time I ate in the bar. Atmosphere was wonderful, food was substandard. When speaking to the manager, felt my concerns were heard and addressed. Still highly recommend this... More

We hit the SF about every 2 months. This honest and fair summary is based on all of my visits. No, it is not kid-friendly, despite what you read. Why? It's elegant and a grown-up restaurant. I had one visit with screaming kids close by. Not a place to bring them. Everything I have had here has been very good... More

We ate here with a group of friends in February of '13. We had come from a local wine club and brought with us some bottles of wine since the Sardine Factory is on their free corkage list. They were very quick to point out to us that despite the fact that we were a party of 8 we were... More

First of all, we read a tripadvisor review of a family with two small boys (which we have) who had a wonderful experience at the Sardine Factory...so I was excited to try it out. Not casual, not family friendly, spendy (expect at least $30-50/entree), service mediocre, and our food was forgettable. I had the crab ravioli and my husband the... More
