We began our drive up California's beautiful coast on Highway #1 at Morro Bay and continued to Monterey. Dinner at Windows on the Water was one of the highlights of the stay there. The view from the restaurant looking out toward Morro Bay's famous rock, the very helpful and friendly staff and the delicious San Dab fish dinner will stand... More

The seafood here is as fresh as it gets. Sand dabs were so light they seemed to float off the plate. The abalone appetizer was perfectly prepared and, despite a wasabi-based sauce, was fully-flavored and exceptionally tasty. service as flawless. Even though we had not reserved, they fit us in with only a short wait to be seated overlooking the... More

We were at Windows on the Water in early April. It was so lovely. We arrived at 6:30 in time to watch the sun slowly setting beyond Morro Rock. The serenity of the view was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday. We had a corner table, and an excellent server. The food was spectacular and everything about the evening... More

Another one of my top 10. The meals are amazing, Hand made lobster ravioli, margarita froth, what's not to like. Our server explained the meals very well. It is rare that someone needs to explain a meal but here it is well worth listening when dining here. The restaurant overlooks the ocean and if your lucky you may see some... More

We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. The setting was spectacular with an impressive view of the bay. The food was excellent in taste and in presentation, and the service was perfect. We had a goat cheese bruschetta with fig jam appetizer and the haddock main course; both were delicious. It was our best meal in Morro Bay.

We spent a lovely weekend in Morro Bay staying in the home of a friend but didn't want to cook our dinners. We were fortunate to find this wonderful restaurant and be seated at a large window with an unobstructed view of Morro Rock. With a broad menu, good service and delicious food, you cannot make a mistake dining here.... More

My husband and I have been here several times, and each time is great! Beautiful place to eat, lots of windows for breath taking seaside views, elegant but relaxed atmosphere. Friendly yet professional staff, and excellent food. Do expect to pay a pretty penny while here, but for a special occasion it's definitely worth it. Go near sunset, and you'll... More

We'd been before about 8 years ago we thoroughly enjoyed the food then enough to stay a second night and go again ! This time we were road tripping in the opposite direction. We sat at the bar for a couple of drinks and ended up staying there for the duration of the evening. Wendy at the bar took our... More

After having a great oceanside lunch in Morro Bay at one restaurant, we decided to return for dinner at Windows. I had made the reservation in advance but found we didn't really need one as the place was almost empty on a Saturday night. Off season I guess. The room is beautiful in an elegant way, and full of windows!... More
