Description: Tamarine is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant that features the light but flavor-intensive culinary delicacies of Vietnam. The restaurant offers a menu based on small plates, promoting the Vietnamese tradition of the 'shared' meal in which food is shared and enjoyed with those close. Tamarine's small plate entrees are enjoyed with the pairing of a variety of aromatic, flavor infused rice, designed to be mixed and matched to create a truly unique flavor experience. Along with culinary delicacies of Vietnam, the restaurant showcases the works of emerging artists from Vietnam and other Southeast Asian countries. Semi-annual exhibits will close with a cocktail event to auction the art. Proceeds will be donated to La Maison Chance, an orphanage in Saigon, Vietnam.

This place is good in so many ways! The menu is fantastic - it makes life difficult because there are so many things that look so good. The food is fantastic- every dish we had was tasty - no one had a single complaint The service was excellent- Not over the top but there was always someone available The seating... More

I recently visited a friend who had relocated to Palo Alto, and he suggested Tamarine for dinner. After perusing the menu, I knew I couldn't say no! The Salt & Pepper calamari is so tender and flavorful, and was such a surprise. I also ordered the Lime-Coconut Scallops, which were, surprisingly, served as a cold dish. They were very light... I went to Tamarine last week for the third time. The first two times we were seated in the front room by the bar. Fine but noisy. This time, because it was my friend's 60th birthday and I had made reservations several weeks before, we were seated in the back room. Much nicer, quieter, and the place for folks who... More

Tamarine consistently is an outstanding restaurant. They are vegetarian & vegan friendly, waiters/waitresses are knowledgeable about such options, & the menu is marked clearly for vegetarians. The food portions are not large & the quality is very good. We always enjoy the food here. Basil tofu & the banh mi roti are always good choices. The cashew fried tofu is... More

Have eaten here many times and it is always a crowd pleaser. If you don't have a reservation, you can almost always get a seat at the bar to eat - I personally avoid the long narrow table and sit at the bar itself, since otherwise you're shouting across the table and very close to your neighbors. My staples to... More

Such a wonderful restaurant, with a delectable menu, a comfortable ambience and good service! We brought a friend here for his birthday lunch, and the restaurant gave him a little present, which was artfully wrapped and inside was a delicious cookie! A wonderful customer service feature, and made my friend feel very special!

This was my third visit to this restaurant in the past few months, and each subsequent time the food has gotten tastier, the wine selection better, and the service attentive. The taste experiences are fabulous, and this time out we asked them to make recommendations on which wine to pair with the various meal selections...and it was great. The atmosphere... More

Apparently there are people who like having good nut overpriced food served in a confined crowded noisy space where it is impossible to talk to your companions and one must select from the menu by pointing since the server can't hear what you're saying.

A superb local restaurant, Vietnamese/Asian of the highest quality. The tastes are all unique and so very good. My colleague ordered so I don't remember all the correct names for the dishes, but the spring roll platter was great, the brussel sprouts excellent, and we shared the sea bass and beef. Service was very attentive, efficient, unobtrusive. The place was packed;... More
