Estrella is a gem! In my judgement it's the number one restaurant in Paso Robles. The menu requires that you like Latin/Mexican/Caribbean food. We do and this is good stuff. We started with a queso fundito that was delicious. My wife and I split a braised beef enchilada that was out of this world and big enough for two. You... More

If you are looking for something different, creative and excellent, look no further. Between us, we had the jamacian seafood curry, a very creative halibut dish and the chile relleno. All were outstanding, fresh and very different from other restaurants. The seafood was perfectly cooked and prepared. A great combination of flavors. Can't say enough about how good this was... More

We went to Estrella with 2 of the locals who recommended it for my Birthday dinner. Everyone was happy. The appetizer was a melted cheeeese like fondue...yummy!The Spicy Chicken dish was fantastic and so was my Curry Seafood Dish which was lightly seasoned..The food was only surpassed by the attentiveness of our darling waitress Dawn. You should ask for her as she... We had a terrific birthday dinner at this nicely decorated, very comfortable restaurant, with a very interesting and unusual menu. We had mostly the tapas which were very well prepared and generous portions. The main dish--the halibut--was as good as we have had anywhere. Our server, Dawn, was attentive and gave us good, honest recommendations for our food and wine... More

We stopped in for a few small plates as an early dinner. Good choice of local wines both red and white. Scallop ceviche was good, the mussels were better and the Carnitas Salad wast superb.

Such a welcoming staff. We came on the food tour. We enjoyed every bite and can't wait to come back. The sangria was so good. Loved the empanadas and taquitos (not sure that's what it was called) with guacamole that was as good as it gets.

It was expensive for the quality of the dinner. We had been there twice before and we were looking forward to the dinner. We were disappointed with the quality. There were 6 of us and we all felt the same way.

We had a great evening at Estrella in Paso Robles right on the Square. We had tapas seated in the window seat served by one of the best ever servers, Dawn. The bottle of wine I had chosen was out of stock so Dawn brought back two suggestions and opened them for us to try, she offered us samples and... More

I chose a couple of very traditional dishes (empanadas and chiles rellenos), only to find that each was done in an unusual way, and was delicious - only the remarkably bland "salsa" (pico de gallo, actually) disappointed. But a fine meal, overall; in a large, attractive room, with very personable service and a good selection of local wines.
