Recommended by hotel front desk. Large, well lighted, dining area with attentive staff. For some reason the room was very noisy. The food (fish taco) was ok but it was very well plated.

I have been eating at C.R. Gibbs for years. Every time I am in Redding for business I stop in here for the garlic asiago cheese burger and a couple of beers. My ding on them is the alehouse. To me the beer selection is average at best for most people. For myself a lover of beers who lives in... More

Ongoing issues with mediocre food here. Stick with simple salads, burgers, pizzas. Everything else is overdone and over sauced, and too many cream based yucky sauces. New York steak was mostly fat and a bad portabello and unreduced wine sauce . Bar is hopping and good service. Have an an app and a cocktail and call it a night in... More

The food was OK, not great. Encrusted Halibut, fish and chips were all right. The Meritage wine was very good at a reasonable price. The food was on the expensive side. Good place to hang out and have a conversation, generally on the louder side.

On our Saturday night visit it was NOISY and crowded. At 7pm, they were already sold out of the prime rib special and the other special (I can't remember what it was). The gin martini I ordered came out vodka, but they corrected it. The Ahi Tuna was awesome. My wife had a specialty salad that was very good and... More

The food is average but the prices are $$$$. Service is as slow as I have ever seen. We were late back to work as it took over an hour just to get our food.

I'm glad my brother-in-law was treating, because there was a bit of sticker shock here. The food was very tasty. We were there for lunch and I had a turkey dip sandwich. Sis and I shared a decadent piece of chocolate cake and bro had creme brulee. Both were so amazing. They were also very patient with us as we... More

Food at CR Gibbs is outstanding. Try their Shrimp Bowl at Happy Hour. It is $9.95 for 24 jumbo shrimp on ice. A great starter and two can easily share this dish.

I had heard this is the best restaurant in town. I finally ate there and cannot deny that claim. Its a bit pricey, but very reasonable for the fine dining experience you recieve.
