I've been here twice and was impressed both times. It is the best Chinese restaurant I've been to. I went both times in large groups and ordered their crab (newport style), calamari (salt and pepper). Both are fantastic. The second time around we also tried their yam leaves, which are stunning. Their shrimp with walnuts is also excellent. The food... More

If you Google Newport restaurants in the Los Angeles-Orange County area, you may come across several, similarly sounding ones, that I am wondering if they are owned by the same company or if it is a popular Chinese name for a restaurant that various owners use. In any case, we visited Newport Seafood restaurant in Rowland Heights a couple of... More

I had been waiting to try this place for months. Pretty much flew out to LA to have Chinese food with my dad. We came here at around 5:30pm on a weekday so there was no one in the restaurant. We tried the walnut shrimp, the beef loc lac, and the fried squid. I'll be updating my review once we... More

After a long day of meetings, I ended up taking our team (general meat and potato crowd...) to the New Port Seafood. We ended up having such a good time, Fat, Dumb and Happy...:-) This is a great Seafood place, Chinese style, ginger Lobster, best Clams ever, Stone Crab and the list goes on. They have chicken and meat dishes... More

Living in land-locked Minnesota means that when I have access to fresh seafood, I get it. I found this through Zagat and was very satisfied. It's a Chinese restaurant with great choices. Aside from the special Lobster, we also had Kung Pao Shrimp. It's very popular so come early or expect a wait for a table.

Took a friend here that visits once in awhile, along with his newborn son. Had to go big for sure. The special lobster is awesome, but yes, it comes at a price. If you come here once in awhile, definitely splurge for a lobster. If you eat here frequently, just stick to the non-seasonal stuff. If you are looking for... More

A huge platter of mouthwatering spicy lobster; tender braised Beef Loc Lac (French style); funny tapioca drinks (OK, they're for kids, but adults should be able to have fun too), and excellent, attentive, and friendly service that makes you feel welcome, set in a stylish attractive restaurant with private rooms for special events - that's what you get at Newport... Took the grandkids there for dinner. Had hot and sour soup ... Huge bowl! Cashew chicken, French beef, shrimp with walnuts, fried calamari, and rice for the kids. Everything was excellent. Bryan loved the beef and the cashew chicken and also ate some calamari and shrimp. Grace also loved the chicken dish. The shrimp dish is quite sweet, so I... More

We went there for lunch since I found them near where we were visiting. We had their lunch specials which was great. For a price between $7 to $9, you have a choice of about 30 authentic Chinese dishes. The lunch comes with a big pot of rice (to share), not just a bowl; and hot and sour soup that... More
