Assembly-line process but always a line...and, according to my dining companion who grew up in West Texas...arguably the best cheap, fast Mexican food around.

The food is authentic and very good. They make it right there in front of you so when chopping the meats it gets very loud!
Easy, inexpensive, fresh, delicious. Pancho Villa is our favorite burrito and our favorite mexican place. A quick meal before the movies or anytime.
Pancho Villa is a successful Mexican restaurant that makes an effort to provide fresh and healthy choices in its menu. According to their site they never use lard, MSG or preservatives, only fresh ingredients. When you walk in you can see how the food is prepared in front of you. Most meats are grilled and there is a choice of...

I was expecting a little bean burrito like at typical Mexican restaurants but I got a nice, skinny, long, delicious burrito. Not big and fat like Chipotle. Get the refried beans with the burrito. I got a carne asada burrito with black beans while my sister got the chicken burrito with refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream. Mine was good,...

Pancho Villa is a legend in San Francisco. Their location on 16th Street is one of the largest, best lit, most consistent, widest menu, decently priced places in the entire mission. The food is good. I have never had any meat dishes so I cannot comment about them. The vegetarian food is good, there are several choices from burritos, tacos and nachos. I think their salsas are outstanding and its probably the reason I keep returning.
We have been to Pancho Villa a number of times over the years.
Food: Good quality, large servings and authentic flavors. Our favorites are the al pastor tacos, nachos and large black bean burittos. The salsa selection is excellent.
Ambiance: Ok ambiance, meant for a quick eat and run. However, it is clean and well maintained.
Service: Self order and...

Years ago my husband and I used to eat at this Pancho Villa. We were traveling through San Mateo recently and decided to eat dinner here. It hasn't changed that much in almost 10 years. The portions are still large, the food is pretty darn tasty Mexican and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant is casual and you order...
