03/31/13 This nice little place is only about a half mile off the Hwy. 101 on Main St. It is well worth stopping by. It is only open from 6AM till 2PM. We used to eat here all the time, mostly on Friday for the all you can eat fish. It is just as good now as it was three... More

Big portions, good "stick to your ribs" food. The chicken steak with gravy is a house specialty, a huge portion.

If you want more food than anyone but a giant could eat, served in a down-home atmosphere then this should be your choice. Locals love it here, so it will be packed, but the food is so darned good, and so reasonably priced that it's worth it. It's a family owned and run restaurant and if there is one thing... More

After reading all the glowing reviews for Hoover's, we decided to stop there for breakfast while traveling through the area. We got the last parking place in the lot, the restaurant was packed. Had to wait for some tables to clear before we could be seated which was expected. Waitress was friendly. The food took a long time to arrive... More

A friend had mentioned this place when we discussed traveling south down Highway 101 to Pismo Beach. We would be leaving the San Francisco area early so this place lined up perfectly for a late breakfast or early lunch. We were traveling on a Tuesday so when we arrived there was plenty of seats. Even so we plopped down at... More

What a great old fashion breakfast. With the Templeton stock yards behind the restaurant make you feel like you have stepped back in time to a much simpler life. The plates are large and filled with wonderful food. The chicken fried steak is big enough to share and the biscuits and gravy are the best around. This is a locals... More

For moderate appetites this is a 3 meal breakfast. The biscuits are the best ever! Don't expect fancy.

Address: 401 N. Main Street, Templeton We were on our way back to L.A. and had planned to go Firestone's Tap Room, but sadly, not open for lunch. What???? So what now? As we were driving along on the service road next to the freeway,we ended up near Templeton (about five miles from Paso). The only things we could come... More

Hoover's Beef Palace is one of my favorite breakfast places. It's just off CA #101, 5 miles south of Paso Robles. It's hugely popular with locals for its diverse and sizable breakfasts which are served all day (2 PM). If you can finish their full order of ham & eggs you're probably in to competitive eating! They also have a... More
