There are too many whiners about this restaurant. Is it a 5 star restaurant? No. Is it good food, good portions, priced well, with a nice atmosphere? you bet. It is a nice family restaurant. We went to the breakfast buffet, and it was great. It has many old time pictures on the walls, and is fun to look at.... More

The other restaurants in Ouray have steep prices. Red Mountain sits at the bottom of a steep set of stairs. But was a nice find. Our grade school kids enjoyed their food and the fruit on the salad bar. The potato salad on the salad bar was unbelievable. Trout and other entrees were very good.

We had good service, good food and plenty of it, and amazingly low prices for a resort area. The historical pictures on the wall were worth the visit. The only thing that was subpar was the cashier was on the phone while taking my money ... very rude where I come from.

We ate at this restraint after looking at a few other menus. The salad/fruit/soup bar was probably the best part. We had the fish & pot roast, they were ok but could have been better seasoned. The waitress was excellent, although I don't recall her name. She recommended the hometown brew which we didn't care got at all.

The dining options in Ouray are pretty limited. We tried this place based on the menu and were a little disappointed. The staff was a bit aloof, and the service was on the slow side. The food was average at best, and a little pricey. I will try another place the next trip through Ouray.

We were lucky enough to happen into Red Mountain Cafe and it was great. The prime rib was very good and a great value. The best meal during our entire trip.

The buffet stack of plates were dirty. Had to ask for clean ones to be brought out. Had already had a cup of soup that was alright but nothing special. They had a nice spread of fresh fruit and a salad bar but I was no longer in the mood to eat.

The breakfast buffet was great. Eggs made to order included. Drinks included. Good size milk not juice size. Discount for seniors. The selection was large and fresh. Loved it.
