Grumpy's is pretty good but not great or even "really" good. Its OK. They used to always have buffets that are pretty average and you get the feeling that they dont want to deal with the public too much. Which is OK by me. There are for sure better places in town and I'd try to find them if I... More

As soon as you walk in, you're taken back in time to the mining era, with the old fashioned decor & music. The piano player that could really tickle the ol' ivory. We stopped in for lunch, and all had burgers and a couple of beers. There were no complaints with the food, and the service was good, despite being... More

The fantastic piano player and the sense of history is what made this place attractive. The staff did an excellent job of providing quick service to the Durango-Silverton train passengers that descend on the town en-masse. The food was average - not bad, not good. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety and quality of music that the pretty piano player performed... More

French Onion Soup seems to be the speciality & made an excellent light lunch with local beer. It's touristy with a honky tonk piano player but that's fun - that's what Silverton is about. The décor alone, from when it was the hotel was one of the best in Colorado, is worth a look.

I wish we had picked another place to eat. First, there was no one to greet us, so we started looking around for a table. We got there and they stuck us at a small table by the tee shirt register. We tried to move when a 4 top came open, but was told by some woman there was a... More

We actually visited this foodies delight twice. breakfast one day and lunch another day. First thing greets U is the piano player at the door during certain hours. Usually during lunch and later for the supper hour. Please tip as U request the players really appreciate it. Now to the food great quick and they seem to be able to... More

The atmosphere here is very good. The decor appears to be late 1800's to early 1900's and the seating was fairly comfortable at small square table for four or very small round tables for two. There is a main dining area and another for groups. There's an excellent piano player who adds greatly to the ambiance. Our hostess was a... More

This is one of the restaurants I was most looking foward to visiting while in Silverton. We enjoyed a good lunch while listening to the piano player do her thing. Our children loved it and we bought a CD for them to listen to. This place has a great feel and good food. Can't wait to eat here again next... More
