We stopped by here for lunch when passing through Hartford. We loved it. The food was great - we got the chicken and beef empanada, aji de gaillina (a chicken dish w a tasty cream sauce), and pollo a la brasa (slow cooked rotisserie chicken, which was fantastic - tender and juicy). The portions were a good size, but price... More

La Kerencya has been in business for about a year and a half and is a welcome addition to the Hartford area restaurant offerings. My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner. The venue is attractive and clean (white tablecloths, etc.). It seems to be family-run. The father-owner, originally from Peru, stopped by our table to see how... More

We had a great meal and a wonderful time at La Kerencya. The food is delicious, and the service is out of this world. The staff spent lots of time telling us about dishes and answering our questions. There were more dishes we wanted to try than people in our party, so we will be back!

If your looking for a meal from Peru this place is a must. The soup is out of this world, for $16 you can get a seven seas soup, that has mussels, clams, octopus, shrimp, etc. I love those soups. It had a different name to it and they had more of a variety of soups if you don't like... More

We went here last Friday night. The food was excellent, and the staff were wonderfully accommodating. We had the Appetizer Sampler to start with Choros a la Chalaca, Chicharron de Pollo, y Tacos La Kerencya; very good! For entrees we had Shrimp Chaufas y Bistek a lo Pobre. Both were excellent, and even better the next day, as was my... More

We tried this restauraunt for the first time, for lunch. The food was fantastic, and the price VERY reasonable! Waitstaff very attentive, and very comfortable seating. I have never tried a Peruvian restauraunt. I am very glad we decided to go here! The food is authentic, comes to you good and hot and will leave you full. Not thinking "Where's... More

I went here for my birthday and it was my first time trying Peruvian food. I had a fried chicken that was extremely delicious. One of my favorite meals I've ever had. The service was very friendly and helpful. I look forward to coming back in the future.

My husband, my mother and myself had a great meal here today. Everything was perfectly seasoned and fresh. My husband ordered Bistek a lo Pobre which was a nice slice of sirloin topped with 2 fried eggs and garnished with onions and tomatoes. This was all served over a bed of fries and had a tossed salad and white rice... More

I highly recommend stopping by at La Kerencya if you're in the area. I was in the area on a business trip and group of us stumbled upon this place. It was my recommendation since I was born and raised in Peru and always love to travel back to my roots. AND TRAVEL BACK I DID!!! We were a large... More
