You must sit at the bar. One of the few bars in town with some real character. The escargo is good but a little heavy on the wine. They use the same sauce on clams. It makes it too soupy which is good on clams but not for escargo. The grits appetizer was outstanding. The shrimp, scallops and artichoke dinner... More

We went to the Neptune Ba at the Island Hotel, late Saturday night, after the Art's Festival and was surprise that the usual chef was not longer there. At first we were concerned but when Andy brought our food out, sorry but we no longer missed the old chef. Hubby and I had the fish sandwich and pasta, the fish... More

Go to the bar, get some good American beer (almost an oxymoron). Great bar food with a friendly staff and equally friendly clientele. Enjoyed the bar more than the restaurant which may say more about us than the Hotel. Great art. Try the Beans and Berries drink

the service was fair and our meals poor. I asked for a hearts of palm salad. The Palm was cross cut, hidden in a mound of uninteresting lettuce and when I found the bits of palm they were like cardboard. The cost $10.00. Credit to the waitress without saying anything she cut the charge to $5.00. The fish was totally... More

Great place! Owners are awesome. Seafood was fresh - must try the unique heart of palm salad! Very laid back atmosphere. Will be back again.

While they have a dining room, we chose to eat in the bar. The food was very good, atmosphere and staff great. An oasis from the hubbub of the wharf.

There are no posh restaurants in this laid back atmosphere, but the Island Hotel does manage quality food, good service and prices that won't bankrupt the budget. Their signature heart of palm salad was well worth trying. Clams and other fresh fish were well represented also. A full bar is available and the key lime pie was a nice way... More

We have eaten here many times and have always enjoyed our meal. The bisque is awesome. The only complaint is our waitress told us last night they will no longer be serving bread. This is very unfortunate as the soup, escargot, etc. are amazing to dip bread into. Even if they charge you for it I really hope they won't... More

We have dinner here at the recommendation of some of the locals. We had both seafood and steak which were adequately prepared, the entree included soup, salad and bread. The service was very good.

We ate in the bar area a number of times during a recent visit to Cedar Key. They have a great bar menu (yummy burgers), fun music, and Angie is the best waitress ever! Prices are very reasonable.
