My wife and I dined here for our second wedding anniversary. We had read the good reviews and made it a point to visit on our trip to Amelia Island. The restaurant is small and simple, the meal was not! We started with the escargot in puff pastry which was warm and reminiscent of biscuits and gravy; the lobster deviled... More

This place looks like it could be in NYC or LA. It is certainly a 'Merge' - maybe of New Age meets Southern or Seafood meets French. Whatever - it works. Food was good and prices fair.

We had a fantastic dinner with friends at Merge. The meal blew away anything we had in Amelia, including anything we had at the Ritz, where we stayed for 5 days. My steak was delis, and the lamb shank, which a friend had, looked like Barney Rubble should have been eating it. It was MASSIVE and fell off the bone... More

I know why Merge is one of the top-rated restaurants in Fernandina Beach! The chef is bursting with creativity and so friendly, making you feel right at home. My son had grouper, I had a veal loin, and my husband had salmon. All were cooked perfectly with beautiful sauces and sides. This chef could make it in Chicago or another... More

We ate at Merge our first night on the island. The menu was eclectic, and interesting. Four of us ordered something different, seafood, duck, meat. All were very good, with good sized portions. The combinations of food were interesting, and worked well on each plate. The mascarpone grit cakes were amazing, and I could have ordered an entire side of... More

Decided to give Merge a shot on our first night in town for vacation. We were surprised (just as other reviewers were) that the place was so empty on a Friday night--maybe 4 couples, including us in the entire restaurant. Then again, we did arrive around 8:15 PM so that could have been why. It could also be due to... More

We sampled this restaurant on a recent trip to Amelia Island and were not disappointed. The salmon was excellent and the deviled egg with lobster appetizer was unique and very tasty. The enclosed patio dining area looked a little run down and claustrophobic but not terribly so. My biggest surprise was the fact that the restaurant was literally deserted on... More

Excellent salmon and Manhattan filet. Great, quiet ambience. Fantastic service. Well with the trip. Easy to find on the way into town. Much more than expected.

The salmon was AMAZING and as long as that's all you order you will be pleased. Everything else is pretty average and I'm surprised at the rave reviews here. The salad was not edible and when the waitress came by and saw I hadn't touched it she didn't ask why, just took it away. The scallops were overcooked and tough,... More

While in Amelia Island for golf school, we dined one evening at Merge. Service and food were excellent. There are places with better local views, but perhaps none with better food! Definitely worth going to if you are in the area.
