Loved the pulled turkey and the pimento cheese was excellent. Husband loved the pulled pork and sweet bbq sauce. Comfortable outside seating. Quick service. Highly recommend.

You go in & order at corner & they bring you food out to outside court. It was in the 70's so very pleasant. I had an excellant pimento cheese sandwich, very full of the cheese. My husband had a huge bar b q pork sandwich which he also liked. Good value also.

Just off the main street of Fernandina's historic downtown, the Happy Tomato offers a cozy place to have a quick lunch. The menu is simple, the staff is friendly and the service if fast. The treat is the patio that allows you to enjoy your lunch outside. Tree cover and umbrellas easily provide the shade you need during warmer temperatures.... More

Not life changing. Just good. Baked beans were delicious. Coleslaw also fresh, creamy and crunchy. The pulled pork was good but not mind blowing. BBQ sauce was good. I don't get the white sliced bread. Need something with a bit of texture to balance the soft meat.

Got a recommendation from a local on a tour boat trip, and man, am I glad I trusted them. We went for lunch last week and and I'm still thinking about it. You have to understand, I'm born and raised in the south, and there are definitely some sacred foodstuffs that require a high bar to impress - as mentioned... More

Our first visit to Amelia Island was made even happier because of the delicious lunch we enjoyed at the Happy Tomato. The menu offers a lot of tempting items, so choosing wasn't easy, but my husband decided on the pulled pork sandwich, and I got the trio salad (pimento cheese, chicken salad, and tunafish salad). Eating in the lovely courtyard... More

The Happy Tomato is a tiny BBQ shack set back off the road on 3rd St. Choices include pulled pork, pulled turkey breast, ribs, chicken, chicken salad, pimento cheese, etc. They are only open until 5:00 pm so we went for lunch. Since we already had dinner reservations for that night, we decided to split a pulled turkey platter with... More

Wife and I were walking around the historic district and stopped here for lunch. The food was great - pulled pork sandwich with spicy bbq sauce for me and a veggie sandwich for my wife. Both were very tasty! And the staff was super friendly. Very cool atmosphere. Check it out!!!
