Good food and fun while eat it! Entertains the kids if you are doing a family night at dinner. They have kids meals on the menu which helps too!
Worth the drive, were usually the only ones there on a week night. Great portion sizes and friendly staff. Chef was kind and explained how to make the perfect rice, and joked with us. Foo was delicious and very filling. Prices aren't bad either a lot better than competitors in town. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!
I paid for extra shrimp and had a difficult time telling if I got any extra. I thought they had accidentally given them to a lady next to me because she had almost double what I had, but I asked her and found out that she ordered extra too. Just doesnt go over well when your plate is right next... More
They have done this for decades now and although their restaurant may not be the prettiest, I like the food better there and enjoy how they treat you. It is a family business and they put forth the effort.
Was there with family and although a small restaurant the food was delicious and great and plenty. We arrived during the "early bird" session so had to wait for a table but luckily we 6 got a grill and chef all to our selves.
Although i am not a fan of Yamato's Food ,staff or quality products ,knowing the quality ,we decided to try the above Japanese steakhouse.Unfortunatly this was not that good as far as i am concern.Although i felt the owners were much more appreciated. The Chefs were pleasant and the wait staff were friendly.I think i will just stick with sushi. And please... My wife and I have been coming here since 1999. We love this place. It is one of the few nice romantic places to dine in Gainesville. I really enjoy all asian foods and this is a fun experience as well. The chefs cook in front of you, and the food has been great every time we go here for... More
Wow! I was a little skeptical when I saw the 4 star average, but I decided to give Sawamura a shot for my birthday dinner. The exterior is very old and has graffiti on the sides. But, I promised not to make any judgements. On the inside, I was impressed. They added a stream and a little bridge on the... More
My wife and I went here for dinner on Christmas Day because almost everything else in town was closed. Fortunately, Sawamura advertised they were open for dinner so we decided to roll the dice. We were prompty directed to one of the tables where the chef cooks in front of you. Food quality is about the same as what you... More
The atmosphere inside is about as bad as it looks from the outside. The food is not at all what we've come to expect from a Japanese restaurant there was no Ginger sauce & the shrimp & chicken were grilled in lemon butter & no egg in the fried rice. Prices are what you'd expect but not worth it. And... More
