Warm, lively interior (and also a very pleasant deck for outdoor dining); friendly, attentive service. Full bar. BUT: No Mexican restaurant should be serving tacos made with "pre-fab" taco shells. How hard and expensive is it to go to Publix and buy some Mission brand corn tortillas? Although I am no gourmet Mexican food cook, I do it all the... More

Granted, we had a large party. 40 people. But we called ahead, they told us they could accommodate us without issue. We showed up on time with a group of about 20 kids and 20 adults and other than us, the place was mostly empty. All the kids sat together and got served LAST. Took them an hour and a... More

This was a nice little Mexican restaurant near the Governors Square Mall. The service was great as well as the food and drinks. You will not be disappointed. The prices are low and you get plenty to eat.

Typically bright, Mexican style decor...lots of wood and color....salsa fresh and chips taste hot and home made....good selection of Mexican beers on tap including my favorite Negra Modelo. No Cerviche which was a disappointment but burritos and fajitas, crunchy and soft tacos and most importantly Carne Asada done well and done right...I like this place very much and would eat... More

Wonderful large portions, great service and atmosphere. Best thing: $2.50 margaritas! I haven't seen a margarita at a restaurant for less than $5 in years. Will definitely return for more!

Food was good nothing you'd drive 2 hours to go to though. Had the vegetarian plate & the San Marcos platter. Hard to beat $15 dinner for 2 people, at home the same portiond would have been double the price.

This is for the Californians and others used to Mexican food in the southwest states. The food here just doesn't compare. The chili con carne was so salty I had to send it back plus the meat was tough and beans and rice not best I've had. I ordered cheese enchiladas as a replacement. They were just ok. The enchilada... El pastor tacos may Not be in the menu but you need to ask for them. Loco taco salad and salsa sooo fresh and delicious. 2 for 1 margaritas? Come on, heaven. Wish we had this in Jacksonville

For me, the quality of the salsa defines a Mexican restaurant. For that reason, El Patron gets high marks. I read the rave reviews about the salsa which tipped the scale in wanting me to try the place. The salsa is fresh and alone, reason enough for a visit. The food was fine, also fresh and flavorful and reasonably priced.... More

Fresh cilantro and tomatoes make the salsa at El Patron worth coming back for again and again! Great lunch place - the prices are terrific, nice atmosphere, the service is very friendly and the food is yummy. One caution - the guacamole is extremely hot and spicy. I love guacamole but couldn't eat this stuff - after the first taste,... More
