Reminds me of what we could get growing up in Chicago. Expect a wait, but you can carry out as well. Delicious.

I went to U of I so I had Papa Del's before but that was a long time ago. I am a fan of Chicago style pizza and have been to the famous restaurants in Chicago. A recent trip to Champaign to show my daughter the campus and hang out a bit lead us to Papa Del's. I didn't remember...

Not my kind of pizza. A lot of dough, like A LOT and after one slice you can't breathe anymore... nahh...
I used to take the new pledges from my fraternity here every semester. It has delicious pizza and gets everyone full really fast but you have to keep eating because it is so good! Just prepare for a long wait.
Stopped in on a Saturday night (school out for summer).. Immediate seating, orderd stuffed pizza and was told they take about 55 minutes (may consider ordering ahead). Seated in the bar to watch NBA playoffs, the tvs were old small tube tvs which was a little disappointing. Service was good, pizza was very good. Both of us could only eat two...

A group of 10 went to Papa Del's of of the recommendation of Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. The portions say serve 2,3,4 etc. this is 2 people=4 slices. Even I and my son as big eaters could only do 2 pieces after an appetizer as well for the traditional Sicilian. The worst part is the wait cuz these...

When in town, we always make a visit to Papa Del's for the super stuffed pizza. Great crust, and good flavor sauce. They take 55 minutes to make, so order ahead to avoid the food wait.

After college, I lived in the Chicago area for several years where I ate quite a bit of Chicago style pizza (Giordanos, Malnatis, etc). While Papa Del's falls short of Giordanos in my book, it is a solid downstate choice for a great deep...

Passing through Champaign we decided to stop for lunch and asked for tripadvisor recommendation. We found the food service and atmosphere to be great! Well kept, clean bathrooms, always a plus.
