I loved the whole decore as well as the food! Best Beef sandwich ever! I felt like I stepped back into a 50's diner! A must try when in Chicago!!!

Beef sandwich is so yummy; love the salads too! Wish there was one closer to my house. I stop when it's convenient but would go more often.

We went here around supper time. It was busy but not super crowded. We are a family of 4 and ordered hot dog, hamburgers, soup, onion rings and drinks. We barely waited 5 minutes for our food. Super quick and the food was great! Near the top of my favorites in Chicago!

Line seemed exceedingly long, but like a well oiled machine they moved quickly. Only issue is that it is a bit off the beaten path and was not in the area we were staying, but well worth the cab ride! Beef sandwich was awesome!!! Will visit again next time I am in town!

When you order your hot dog, make sure you ask for everything to go with it! Mustard, chilli, tomato etc... Otherwise you just get the dog! Waiting to get your food was entertaining! During a walk with the kiddies my wife stumbled onto Portillo's. I have to be embarrassed with the fact that we've even lived in the city and it was our first visit there. I had the Italian Beef sandwich. So good. The Ontario location is very touristy and crowded, but it doesnt take away from the fact that Al's does it right. Good stuff.
