Worth braving the line to try at least once. The sausages themselves could be a little bigger, but they are very good...so order more than one to make it worthwhile. Frank n' Dawgs might give you better bang (and taste) for your buck though

Incredible dogs. I had a traditional Chicago Dog, and a pheasant sausage with herb mustard, brie, and duck confit. They were both amazingly flavorful, and left me wanting more. If you're in Chicago, you MUST go here. The owner was working the register and he made the experience that much better. It's worth the wait in line.
This place is awesome. That's why everyone will stand in line in the dead of winter forever for it! I'm a huge fan of the spicy hot dog, whose name changes regularly, but I started eating it when alias was on, and it was the Jennifer Garner. Try to hit it on a day that they offer duck fat fries,...

It was a bit of a wait but we expected that given the reputation of this restaurant. Definitely worth the wait. Staff was pleasant and funny -not bored of their job or tired of the endless customers. Choice of food was great and the duck fat fries were out of this world. Given the quality of the food and the...

Hot Doug's apparently had a stellar reputation before Anthony Bourdain featured it on No Reservations. But since then - well, be prepared to wait awhile if you come during the weekend or prime lunch hours. But wow, it's worth it. The more standard dogs are about as Chicago as you can get, but the premium dogs are a thing of...

I have finally crossed Hot Doug's off my food to-do list after 4 years! I was a little nervous going in that it couldnt possibly live up to my expectations but it far exceeded them. We got there right at opening and only waitied 20-30 minutes. Because of the long lines and size of the space I figured it would...

I had heard of Chicago dogs. I had been to parties in NY where people fixed "Chicago style dogs" but I had not ever had a hot dog in Chicago. Last September, my partner and I took a train cross country from NY to Los Angeles. Our one major layover was in Chicago. So, I did some serious internet research...

My boyfriend is a huge sausage fan, so this place had been on our "to-do" list for over a year. It was a rainy Friday morning and we braved the elements to enjoy sausages only heard of before.
At 10:00 am there were already 5 people in line for the 10:30 opening, so we joined them. We all discussed the...

Do not let the line intimidate you. It moves really fast and is so worh it. They only take cash so prepare ahead. We had the aligator dog, foie gras dog, chicago dog and the apple pork dog. The foie gras was last meal worthy. We got the duck fat fries which were good but we wished we had saved...
