Okay I did not try the food here but, let me explain. My 83 year old mother-in-law grew up in Moline and always talks about how she always came here for ice cream as a child. We were stopping here from a long trip and decided to finally visit. Unfortunately my son had a stomach ache but, was not nautious.... More

Go for the candy, perhaps the ice cream (I prefer Whitey's), or a generous serving of nostalgia - but if you're hungry, it's not your place. Portions tend to be small. And it's not inexpensive. Don't get me wrong, it's a fun place to take your grandkids or out-of-town friends. There can't be many of these old-school soda shops still... More

My wife and I had been meaning to try out Lagomarcino's chocolates for some time, and we finally had a chance. We shared a traditional banana split. Very good. Their homemade hot fudge really does have a slightly different, very yummy flavor, which makes the whole experience fun and unique. Prices were very reasonable. Nice, old-fashioned ice cream parlor atmosphere.... More

This charming soda shop is a treasure. The beautifully decorated windows welcome patrons into one of Moline's favorite spots. I love the ham salad on homemade rye bread and their secret hot fudge sauce is the best around. This is a great place to bring "out-of-towners" for lunch. I often take business associates here and they are always delighted. Be... More

Lagomarcino's is a 100+ year-old confectionary and restaurant. It has a fun, old-timey, casual atmosphere. The food is simple, but very good and the ice cream specialties are terrific. One of the most notable things about "Lago's" is the old-time candy counter full of delicious candies, made right there. Lagomarcino's is an experience as much as an eating place.

authentic 1920's candy and ice cream shop. Possibly the oldest soda fountain left in Illinois; not a re-creation

A wonderful old fashioned ice cream parlor. Great place to take the kids or pick up treats for any holiday. Hand made candies to die for!

This is the place for charm and homemade candy. I do eat a meal here, a lot better places, but their candy is worth the stop. During the cooler months they make a sponge candy that is the best I have ever had. It is a family run place and they take care and great pride in their product. Make... More

Lunch with a friend at Lago's was a walk back to the past. I remembered their delicious chocolates, made on location, from my childhood. They're still on display in the same rich dark wood and glass cases. The sandwiches were good, but the highlight of our visit was their to-die-for hot fudge sundae! Though pricey, their caramel apples are fantastic.... More

Home made meals, tasty stuff. Maybe not for lunch or dinner, since they only have sandwiches and soups besides the sweet options, but still nice place to check.
