I've never had Afghan food before I came here so I couldn't tell you if it was authentic--but it was without a doubt totally delicious and the restaurant is beautiful with excellent service and dirt cheap for the ambiance, service and food they served. I will come back here every time I come to Chicago!

We've discovered this place only in early March. An excellent location. Food is delicious - by far the best meat I've ever had in town. The spices used by the chef on this meat are really great. The waiters and the lady that serve and seat people are very nice and friendly. Great service. You cannot make reservations for groups... More

This is a great place for mediterrnean food. It is better than typical falafel + pita fare. There are different menu items. We tried lentil soup ( mild and very tasty) + Bulanee ( Aloo paratha). I loved that they give pomegranate posder to dust the bulanee. Must try! I had aushak ( veg ravioli) with mint sauce which tasted... More

Our family has been to Kabul House numerous times over several years (both before and after they moved to their new location a couple of years ago - we even ate there when they shared space with a pizza restaurant many years ago). It has always been a delight to eat there. All of the appetizers are superb, the chicken... More

It’s one of those places where most “reviewers” are not going to be able to find fault; nor will your average customer who walks in off the street. Affable hosts, prompt service, delicious food, artfully presented, and a fair price. That’s the story at Kabul House on Oakton Street in Skokie. A soothing atmosphere with linen tablecloths and napkins is... More

Fantastic food. Yum. I would eat here again in a heartbeat. Aush-rishta soup was exquisite. Kari sautéed pumpkin should be a dessert. Chicken kebabs moist and seasoned to perfection. Prices very reasonable. You won't be disappointed.

We have eaten at Kabul House 3 times in the past year. The food is Afghan, the quality very good and the service excellent. One of those times we brought an ethnic dining group of over 20 people to the restaurant and the kitchen and staff provided hot food in a very timely fashion. Parking is on the street and... More

I am not sure what the big deal is. The meat was undercooked, and bland. Not a good place for kids. Don't have kids menu. Don't have plastic cups. The rice with raisins was delicious.

We used to frequent their old location on Dempster near McCormick, and we were thrilled when they reopened in Skokie. Very tasty appetizers, and the kabobs are also very tasty. Really good food. Waitstaff not overly friendly, but they are efficient. We really enjoy eating here! Also, you can BYOB (corkage fee). We will continue to frequent Kabul House, and... More

Now located on Oakton in downtown Skokie, Kabul House remains a little known jewel of a restaurant on the North Shore. Interesting, delicious ethnic food, but not too overly for local tastes.
