This place was much better a few years ago. I don't know if they changed ownership after the fire, but the pizza is not as good. The last few we have had are greasy. Also, they are pricier than the competition.

I hate to write a poor review of a family run restaurant, but to keep TripAdvisor worthwhile and perhaps to help a hardworking restaurant owner, I have to come clean on Donatello. I was the only person in the dining room, and as I sat there, I had to listen to piped in background music, competing with the very loud...

We love this place! It's a true family owned restaurant. The staff (mainly family) goes out of their way to take care of you. For the past two years, a group of us have dined here while attending a swim meet in Indy and loved it. We will always come back. One friend in our group is from Italy and...

Donatello's is a great addition to the neighborhood. Had dinner on one of the Gallery Walk Nights and it was a really nice dinner. Had my mother-n-law with us and they accommodated her extra requests. The staff service was spot on. We did not have to ask or want for anything. The wait staff were there to replenish our drinks,...

Right now if you purchase gift cards of any denominations adding up to $100.00 you will receive a $20.00 gift card for free. We first visited Donatello's for fine dining so expected to pay more than you would at a larger bustling restaurant that is noisy & has a multitude of mass produced meals.
This is a small family-owned restaurant...

We hoped this would be a lovely spot for dinner--boy, were we wrong!! The waiter told us the vegetable of the day was fresh green beans lightly sauteed with garlic, instead it was steamed broccoli which was cold by the time we finally received our dinners. The starch of the day was supposedly roasted new potatoes, instead we got macaroni...

Our first experience with Donatello's was our last. Walking in at opening time should still get us professional service & good food. The manager was not professional & kept shouting to the staff instead of lowering her voice. Other tables were greeted with offers to look at a wine list or what their drink order may be, however we were...

We just stopped by for lunch at Donatello's and it was an excellent dining experience. Considering it was 104 degrees outside - it was very cool, dark and pleasant inside. My husband had the shrimp pasta with pesto. He let me try some and it was very good. I don't even like pesto and I loved it. The shrimp were...

Short menu. Classic Italian pasta and main dishes emphasizing veal. Maybe 16 tables. Tasty antipasta platter. Two fresh soups of the day. A poached salmon special. Large shrimp pasta. Solid, not spectacular, sauces. Modest, diverse wine list. A little bit loud and bustling with the kitchen nearby. Good server attitudes. Team service. Helpful menu and wine advice. Personal touch.
Although I live within a mile of Donatellos it's taken a while for me to pay a visit. I can't believe what I've been missing. This is what I consider a true local run and owned restaurant that strives and achieves to satisfy and welcome local patrons as well as impress out of town visitors treating both like long lost...
