Based on a recommendation, my family and I went to this restaurant. They liked it, I thought it was ok - nothing to rave about (but then, I've had authentic Cajun meals before). They'd come back, I'd skip and try something else. Hence, four stars (if I ignored their opinions, I'd give it three). As other reviewers noted, this place... More

There are other Yat's in town but this is my favorite. The staff is great. The food is always good and can't be beat for the price. There are always interesting people to watch, from tattoos to Mohawks.

A trip to Yats is a must while in Indy. I love their white chicken chili, but anything you get is delicious. Very flavorful.

This is the real deal. Great cajun, the owner is from New Orleans and knows his stuff. The food is spicey, but great tasting. This is a popular place in Broad Ripple. You won't be disappointed.

Everytime I'm in Indianapolis I look for a reason to go here as, if the food isn't reason enough. For around $5 you get a lot of food! Not to mention your drink is included. But its not just the portion size that's awesome, its everything! The inside of the restaurant is decked out in New Orleans fare, trumpets, beads... More

The resturant is very small, but the food is pretty decent. You get a lot for your meal, and I would reccomend that you do the half and half which will allow you to try multiple things. Cash only so don't think you'll be able to use your card.

The corn in the etoufe makes is a little sweet for my taste but the jambalaya is outstanding! The staff is friendly, the prices are good, the servings are large, and the decor is nice. We even liked the eclectic music. If we lived in Indy, we would be regulars.

Mother's going to be displeased if every she sees this, but Yat's makes the best food I've ever had in my entire life, and delivers great atmosphere to boot! Walking into this jazz-filled Cajun/Creole restaurant, reading the chalkboard 'menu' of offerings of the day, chatting with the locals both in line and behind the counter, ordering quickly and handing over... After leaving New Orleans we stopped here for what ? cajun/creole food in Indy? Great choice. Met the owner who seemed to know all about Nawlins food that is served in large portions. In a College casual atmosphere, large place.. we really enjoyed it.A great find that i will hit again

Cheesy crawfish etoufe is a favorite. Prices are great. Pints/Quarts are fantastic inexpensive carry out if you're feeding a group.
