I visited St. Elmo Steak House with a group of co-workers, and admittedly, this is not a restaurant I would have tried on my own. The vibe is comfortable and the room is a little crowded and a little noisy. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to find anything on the menu that would accommodate my gluten free... More

We went to the St Elmo Steak House because it was one of the few restaurants that was there when I was growinf up in Indianapolis, It is obviously very popular but we thought it was too crowded, loud, and hot. The food while OK is very expensive for the quality and service.

Just another rip off steak joint that only wants to get your 75 bucks a head. Once upon a time they served 6 huge shrimp in a nice tangy sauce. Now $16 for 5 smallish shrimp in a pure ground horse raddish. The steaks are choice black angus. Gone are the Prime dry aged cuts. The included salads are now... More

W had heard a lot about St Elmos so decided to book it for our 36th Wedding Anniversary meal. We were not disappointed. World Famous for their Shrimp Cocktail starter................... will not say anymore you will have to go and try it, all eyes in the restaurant will be on you. The main course steaks are delicious, tender, succulent cooked... More

Great steaks, fantastic navy bean soup although it was not real hot and the shrimp cocktail (one of their signature dishes) was ok--just shrimp with lots of horseradish sauce. Not worth 16.00 in my opinion!

Steak was great and the shrimp cocktail was a different animal....but I would eat it again and again.

Service was impeccable. I ordered a NY Strip (Well done), redskin mashed potatoes, green beans and tomato juice. The potatoes are probably the best I've ever had in my LIFE! I know you shouldn't order steak well done, but that is my preference. I had to send it back twice, because it came out with blood the first time and... More

I checked out restaurants near the hotel and I stumbled upon St. Elmo's. I was pleasantly surprised! I had the Sunday feature which consisted of a choice. I had the house salad ( but the shrimp cocktail is a local favorite), a filet cooked medium and the Creme brûlée paired with with a nice Cabernet. All was great. I initially... More

What a joke. Had the shrimp cocktail - decent shrimp ruined by a genuinely nasty horseradish sauce. Steak was ok but sides were below average. Needed a sauce of some type for lubrication. Service was clumsy and amateurish. Ambience? What ambience. Just a cacophony. Value? Total rip-off.
