This restaurant has a very good Buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We decided to opt for the lunch buffet. My party was at the Abe Martin Lodge for a couple of nights and days for a holiday. We slept in and had lunch at this rustic but good restaurant in our lodge. The staff was young and friendly, the... More

We went to the Little Gem this morning. Now, I understand it was a Sunday morning, but the service was horrible!! Once we finally got seated, it took the waitress about 15 minutes to show up! All the waitresses kept just staring at us rather than even talk to us! We had menus so it was obvious we hadn't been... More

This restaurant has the best buffet around, and I have been to many. Their sunday buffet has a large salad bar and at least 3 types of meat, veggies and bread. They have a wonderful selection of deserts. We were so impressed, we went back on Mother's Day. Had to have reservations on that day. They wait staff are very... More

Husband and I went to Nashville yesterday and ate at the Lodge. We didn't plan to but my favorite spot The Hobnob, had a line out the door. So we went and enjoyed the park for awhile and tried out the buffet. It was really nice. I had the fried chicken, mac and cheese, fresh spinach salad, green beans, and... More

The people who work at the lodge were all really nice and they worked hard. Weird thing though, at the restaurant, when you go to pay your tab at the cash register, the cashier asks, "Are you going to give a tip and if so, in what amount?" They do that over and over with each person paying. That seems... More

A nice surprise - this restaurant serves breakfast until 2:00 p.m. - so if you are there for lunch, you can order off either the lunch or breakfast menu. Good omelettes - we tried the veggie ($5.99) and the ultimate ($7.99). Omelettes are served with a choice of hash browns or or home fries (delicious!) and toast. And, I highly... More

Stayed one night at the lodge with my nieces for a Spring Break get-away. They are 8 and 12 years old. They both really enjoyed the indoor water park as did I. The rooms were very comfortable and, although this is an older building, very well maintained. No complaints, the front desk staff were very nice and friendly. We didn't... More

Don't waste your time on this one. First night of our stay we ate off the menu. Pork chops dried out and only 3/8" thick maybe. Best part of the meal was the baked potato. Breakfast the next morning was passable. Much better food available 1.5 miles away. The stay at the lodge was great though.

After an early morning hike, I enjoyed the breakfast buffet at The Little Gem Restaurant inside Brown County State Park. This is a spread where you must ignore your doctor's advice, as this was a wonderful sample of southern Indiana home cooking. In memory of my recently departed father, I scarfed down a small bowl of biscuits and gravy, then... More

We enjoyed a beautiful hike through Brown County and worked up quite an appetite. The buffet was okay-the food was nothing special but it was hot and good and there was a lot of it. The fried biscuits were a treat! The service was friendly and efficient and the setting is beautiful. We plan to make this an annual tradition... More
