I have taken several visiting guests to this place for dinner and for lunch. They all have liked the food and the venue is so cool. Service is good and the food is consistently excellent. Try the steak dishfor sure. We like that they have specials on the menu as well -- it's adds interest for dinning out if you... More

Good restaurant. It was a quiet slow rainy Monday but it didn't show on the food. The frog's legs were very nice, the best (and only) I've ever had. The shrimp and grits were also very nice with a solid tomato sauce. I recommend the bourbon flight! Make up your mind whether you go to The Party Source down the... More

My husband and I made a special lunch detour to Virgil's on our way south. We had read about it on Diner's, Drive-ins and Dives and also on Tripadvisor. This place is no dive, and the food is delicious and cooked from scratch! We shared an order of Ettouffee with smothered chicken and andouille sausage, dirty rice and garlic bread... More

The good: cool vibe, neat original art, great building, interesting tasty food, good service. The bad: pricey, can be crowded, not every dish is perfect. Virgil's is an upscale, slightly funky place with pricey but excellent food. This place is on our local rotation of great places. The staff is friendly, quick and accurate. The food is well crafted and... More

Heard a lot about this place being on Food Network and all but we were very disapointed. Got the shrimp and mushroom appetizer and it was swimming in oil. My shrimp Creole was bland and tasted like bland tomatoes.....not at all spicy like I was expecting. My Fiance had the Halibut which was served luke warm and was void of... More

I read the reviews of a few disenchanted folks. We didn't have the same experience at all. Restaurant has a cool vibe, in an old house with lively and colorful expressionist and abstract art. Cozy small bar at entrance. Started off with a Mt Carmel lager---great beer. We (4) shared appetizer Mushroom confit which was very tasty. Etoufee was good,... More

My wife and I went to Virgil's with a group of friends for a Saturday lunch. Virgil's is small, quaintsy, artsy - it is in the older "downtown Bellevue" neighborhood in Northern Kentucky, which has undergone a renaissance. "Main Street" (Fairfield Avenue, aka The Avenue") is lined with specialty shops, small restaurants and antique stores and more. In addition to... More

I ate here while in Cincinnati on business, restaurant is a little pricey for the area but well worth it! Nice decor, very friendly waitress, we sat in the window with a view of the street. I had the fennel salad, steak and frites with greyer and carmalized onions, and bourbon chocolate cake and I would recommend everything I ate.... More

It is difficult to find a "cajun" restaurant that hits the mark! Virgil's does a great job! I enjoyed a wonderful dinner and wine with a great lady last night! We shared the Shrimp & mushrooms and the Etouffee both of which were very good. The atmosphere will remind you of a great place to dine in NOLA! The service... More

I've now been to Virgil's twice, and enjoyed it thoroughly both times. This past summer, I met a friend there for brunch. The service was excellent, interior cozy, drink menu FABULOUS with vintage cocktails and ones with a modern twist, and excellent food. My second visit was for dinner this winter, and it was equally as good. Notwithstanding being seated... More
