We tried the ceviche of the day (ahi tuna), salbutes (beef/mole, asparagus/havarti/pepitas, slightly roasted tomato/goat cheese), vegetarian burrito, and strawberry shortcake. Everything was exceptionally fresh, perfectly cooked, and well presented. The mole was my favorite flavor of the meal. The hint of cinnamon was really nice. The dulce de leche (goat's milk ice cream) that was served beside the strawberry... More

This restaurant was within walking distance of the Marriott downtown (about a mile) - though the area we walked through seemed a bit sketchy :o( We would have walked back to the hotel if it was still light. But we took a cab instead. We made reservations (strongly suggest) the same day. The restaurant is fairly small, so do make... More

I went to the Mayan Cafe for dinner in late May. We sat outside (there are a few sidewalk tables). The restaurant is on a cool funky strip in Louisville -- albeit a bit of a hike from, say, the 4th Street drag. I walked from the Brown Hotel, which was about 1.5 miles away, but I'd have to say... I love the food, especially the lima beans. Really lima beans? YES! The lima pibeans are delish. I usually get the salmon that comes with side of lima beans, but salmon last time was not as good as the usual. Drinks are okay, I usually get the mezcal mule, sometimes its awesome, sometimes its okay, maybe they have different bartenders.... More

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful food. I mean it really is second to none. Flavorful, creative and simply tasty. Portion sizes are larger than you'd expect. As the subject line states if they are offering a Prix Fixe menu don't even hesitate get it. The rabbit and lima beans are both incredible. Easily one of our favorite spots in town.

Went with a couple of friends so we could order several items and share. Everything was fresh and delicious. I love Lima beans anyway, but these were amazing. The meat was seasoned well and veggies fresh and crisp. Service was awesome and decor was pleasant. I'll be back for dinner!

We really enjoyed our recent meal there. We sat outside as there was an event going on and we didn't have reservations, but it was pleasant. Menu is very interesting We ordered a few rounds of appetizers, and dessert. Everything was very flavorful and nicely presented. Service was very good as well. Agree on the previous Lima bean comments...suprisingly great!

Yes. I was forced to eat Lima beans as a kid and they never tasted like this. Must try them, really. Small resteraunt and seating is tight. Food was good but a little pricey. Not an every week place but I will be back.
