We enjoyed a delicious grilled shrimp dinner in this unique Lafayette restaurant . The entire restaurant is decorated with the charming paintings of Louisiana artist George Rodriguez, featuring ,of course, that famous blue dog. This is a really fun place to go. It is a large spacious restaurant , but it does get crowded even on week nights. Our shrimp was... More

We went here on a client's recommendation & weren't disappointed. I love the fresh seafood, but my co-worker doesn't eat seafood (I thought that was a crime for a LA resident). We both had a nice selection on the lunch menu & both enjoyed our meal. Thank you.

Must stop in if you're a fan of "Blue Dog" art pieces. This restaurant is easy to find (GPS), ample parking and spacious with lots of room to roam while looking at the art on the walls (bathrooms walls too). Friendly staff. So many selections on menu, hard to select. Certain dishes have been given a blue ribbon and these... More

can't remember which bisque it was -- had lots of different seafood in it. OUTSTANDING. Had the crawfish enchiladas which were made low carb by using a low carb tortilla -- really good. Cool decor. Glad I went here. Would go back for sure.

Stopped by late, only had gumbo, andouile sausage appetizer, seafood wontons......all were very good. An upscale bar type atmosphere. Blue Dog paintings everywhere make for nice decor. Band well placed so you could just listen or talk..............

Amazing amazing amazing. The food at Blue Dog is exceptional from start to finish. It's silly to say my favorite part was the free Honey Garlic Butter they gave us with our dinner rolls. My family split three meals between the four of us (big portions) and thoroughly loved every bite! The restaurant has a great homey atmosphere and all... More

We had a very enjoyable evening at the Blue Dog Cafe on a Thursday night. The service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food was very good, I enjoyed the grilled shrimp dinner, it is really good! Did I mention that we were entertained by a good four member country music/blues group? All worked together for a marvelous evening.

Pros: EVERYTHING Cons: NOTHING Several years ago I lived in Lafayette for awhile and the Blue Dog was my "regular" hangout. Last night I was in town and I just wanted to see if they were still up to par and the answer is YES! My favorite thing on the menu is the "crab dinner" but it's not for a... More

They say you come to Lafayette for the food if for nothing else....well if you are here and a foodie, you need to check out the Blue Dog Cafe. The bisque is the best I have ever had and an award winner. Also had the grilled shrimp and they were excellent. Service is fast, friendly and the atmosphere is inviting.... More

Sunday brunch is a must. Great music, food and drink. Festive atmosphere. Everything from soup and salad to a great omlete station and the chef doing the creations was great to visit with. Something for everyone. Did I mention the mimosas that came with brunch?
