If you want a nice treat, this is definitely the restaurant to go to in town. My favorite dishes are: Seafood Stew and Duck w risotto. Yummmmm
Absolutely horrible customer service! Condescending, elitist attitude from the owner. Happy Hour ends at 6:00, so we rushed in at 5:55 and received no greeting from the waitress. I went up and asked her for menus, and she returned with some, and said "you have three minutes" (until Happy Hour ended). We placed our order at the bar and went... More
This was our second trip to the Damairscotta River Grill and both times we were delighted with our dinners. We always choose fish and you cannot beat the way they prepare your favorite fish dinner. A little expensive, but well worth it.
What a nice place to stumble upon for dinner. The place was hopping and it was a Sunday night. Great menu and great specials. I had the mussels, this dish is one of my favorites and the Chef did it up right. Nor did the Chef go cheap on the number of mussels-they were just about falling over the edge... More
Excellent and thoughtful service. Our waitperson worked hard to find us a quiet spot--the place is a bit noisy acoustically. Service was very fast and food was fabulous, and priced competitively.
Excellent, interesting food with local ingredients; great half-price small plates during Happy Hour; friendly service in a casual setting.
Happen to stop in for lunch here. Yummy!! The clam chowder was the best we had tasted in Maine. I had the lobster BLT sandwich. Wasn't sure how bacon and lobster would taste together but it was so good and the Broccoli Waldorf Salad which is a favorite amongst the locals. They have won several Wine Spectators awards for their... More
I went here with my mother and my elderly aunt, who lives in town. I didn't know what to expect and thought it would be expensive with average food. However, we found the menu had a lot of great selections, and we were very happy with our food - and the check.
The Damariscotta River Grill is well worth finding ... it's just off US Route 1, on Main Street in the center of Damariscotta. Excellent food! Not your average New England seafood restaurant ... much more interesting cusine. I had the grilled north atlantic salmon, with a mustard-pecan-chive sauce and fried leeks ... delicious! If you're in the mid-coast region in... More
My husband and I had been in Booth Bay and were less then impressed with the restaurants we had been to so we were desperate for a nice atmosphere and a good meal. Boy were we thrilled we found the River Grill! Not only were we greetedt by the sweetest, very attentive man with lobster shorts, but our waitress Holly... More
