The fruit buckle was very good. My husband had a blueberry scone which he said was good and a croissant which was so so. The breads looked good but we didn't try them. Also didn't try the coffee because there was nowhere to sit.

Everything looked and smelled appetizing, and the employees were very pleasant and efficient. Of the five items I tried, the morning bun was my least favorite. I chose the breakfast bun, which is a sticky bun anywhere else, and a blueberry scone for breakfast. The bun was good but the scone lacked any real berry flavor. Their coffee was very good.

Whenever we drive to mid coast, we take a detour to stop at Standard. It's one of the few places that outdoes our home-baked, no-knead bread. I wish all bakeries are as good as Standard Baking Co. I travel to Portland ME every so often and look forward to their morning buns, croissants, chocolate corks and sables (cookies). Locals and visitors alike line up when the doors open each morning. The bread is excellent and is served at many local restaurants. That's how good it is!

I've purchased bread, cookies, and pastries from this bakery many times. I have never been disappointed. Their buckles are so fresh, full, of fruit, and make a wonderful breakfast treat.
