Eight of us in this family group and all were impressed by the coziness of Cafe Dry Dock ...the Staff, who were so hospitable and the food....now we're talkin'. From fresh lobster in lobster roll, lobster whole, lobster sautéed in butter, it met all with moans of delight......halibut and a Filet mignon...."Steak Henry"....that was topped with artichokes and bearnaise sauce... Thank you very much for your review. We are glad your party had a real enjoyable experience with us here. Fresh local seafood is one of our specialties. As we live on an island we have ample supplies of lobster, fish and shellfish from the cold North Atlantic. I grew up eating and cooking seafood, as it was once "poor... More

This restaurant was within walking distance from our B&B but it was also recommended by relatives who have been staying in Bar Harbor annually who make the short trip to SW Harbor for the lobster roll and blueberry crisp. My husband and I both enjoyed these food choices in a nice place!

Lobster and blueberry crisp are a great combination of local products. Both are big sellers here and are harvested locally. Maine is the largest producer of blueberrys and lobster which we use in different dishes. I'm glad you took their advice and stopped in to visit us. Thank you for your review. More

Combine excellent food with attentive, but not overbearing, service, it makes a romantic evening. Being on an island on the coast of Maine, seafood is a specialty that doesn't disappoint. Reservations are suggested.

We dropped in on a rainy May day and had a delicious lunch. The ciabatta roll enclosed ham, bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, spices ... it was wonderful. Nice ambiance, pleasant and efficient waitstaff. A locals place with plenty to offer.

Thank you for your review. The ciabatta is one of our best selling sandwiches and one our staff likes to eat for their lunch. Next to the lobster roll it is very popular. We purchase the bread locally and serve generous portions. thanks again for taking the time to review us. More

Cafe Dry Dock is a welcoming place, situated right on the main drag in Southwest Harbor. The decor is fantastic - - lots of maritime oddities, without being too over the top. The yellow split pea soup was really, really good, and the turkey sandwich with red pepper hummus was tasty, though way too big! Cafe Dry Dock could also... More

Thank you for your great review. We serve large portions as our locals like it that way. On any given day there are lobstermen, boat builders, contractors and many people in the trades here for lunch. We don't want anyone going away hungry and need to feed the wolf in everyone's stomachs. thank you again for your review. More

Good choice of menu - the blackened swordfish was fabulous. The only thing I would say is check if you are buying wine by the glass - we did several times and the price varied considerably each time.

Thank you very much for your review. The swordfish is delievered to us fresh. It is a good fish and goes well with most recipes we have. We have in the past served its primary preditor, mako shark, which is caught alone side swordfish as the sharks are following the swords for food. Our wines and everything that we sell... More

We spent 5 nights at Cafe Drydock Inn. Although it's listed as a B&B, no breakfast is served. As breakfast in town costs about $15/person, it's probably a better idea staying at a B&B just down the road that may cost $30 a night more. We stayed in room #6 and had problems with hot water in the shower every... More

Thank for your review and we are glad you stayed with us. We are not a B@B and it must have been an advertising mistake. We are a small hotel and have been at this location since 1897. Our rooms were original offices and different business and remoulding had been quite a challenge, but we would rather have more space... More

This could be a great restaurant. It is on the main street of the “quiet side” of Acadia National Park. But it wasn’t so great for us. The food was OK, but the service was abysmal. We were there on a Saturday night in early October 2012. It was busy, but not crazy. The waitress was attentive at first but... More

We are sorry this didn't work for you and we will address it with our servers. They are usually on top this and I don't know what happened. I won't make excuses for them but we have had thousands upon thousands of customers go through here since May. Most of of our servers have two jobs and are working unbelievable... More

Cafe Dry Dock is a convenient option in Southwest Harbor. It's right on the main road and has plenty of seating (in the dining room and near the bar). The food is good. That said, it's not overly special, but it is quite over priced. We managed to run up a tab close to $100 for the two of us... More

Wow, that is expensive by our standards considering there were only two people. Our best steak dinner is 24.95 and a 1 1/2- 1 3/4 lb lobster dinner is 23.95 which are our most expensive plates. Appetizers are from 7.95-12.95. I would believe alcoholic drinks were a big part of your dinner bill. Yes, there are take outs and fast... More

Very busy and service a bit slow but we liked the Greek salad and brownie dessert quite well. Lobster sauté was a bit rubbery.
