Nice classy place. Very nice service; great decor, hip and trendy. I sat at the bar for a quick bite. Very good service, decent menu selection and good looking raw oyster bar. I had oyster stew and the mushroom flatbread. The oyster stew w/caviar was delicious. The flatbread was okay. This is real "flat"-bread. I mean paper-thin flatblead. Toppings were... More

The restaurant across the street had an hour wait on a Tuesday, so we tried here. We really should have waited. We had the shellfish sampler, which was a large mix of oysters, clams, mussels, blue crab salad and cocktail shrimp. One type of oyster was better than the other, clams and mussels were ok, the blue crab was overpowered... More

We have been to this restaurant several times but will not return after this latest experience. We ordered two rye drinks before dinner, wine during dinner, etc. We were offered two different ryes. Since we were not familiar with the second one, we decided to have it. When the bill was presented we noticed that each rye drink was charged... More

I have been there quite a few times. It was very busy recently. I had a wonderful salad, and delicious fish entree. Our server was very pleasant and efficient. It also has a very busy bar, and outside seating.

Overall a good meal, but slightly overrated. We started the night enjoying the fresh air outside on the patio at the bar. Nice selection of cocktails (the lemonade cocktail although very refreshing, the bartender admitted did not have homemade lemonade as the menu suggested). My mojito was creatively topped with a stick of rock candy. Despite being quite busy, we... More

We frequently watch the food travel channel and put the ones we like on our bucket list. Traveling through the Austin, TX area we maneuvered our way to Lockhart, TX to visit Black's BBQ for lunch. As promised from TV we found the food to be very tasty and loved the ribs. They have a varied menu selling chicken, pork,... More

I went to Black's for a business dinner, and was relieved to see that there were a number of non-seafood/fish items on the menu, as I am not a fish/seafood eater. The server had a really nice knowledge of the wines on the menu and was able to recommend one that suited my taste and went with the meal. The... More

I will admit I had not visited the restaurant in many years and perhaps because of that my expectations were large. I will admit the kitchen was a surprise - for the quality of the food served was exemplary - my companion had whole branzino while I had a rockfish special. The wine I chose (J Alexander 2009 Pinot Noir)... More

I have always liked this restaurant. The food is consistently top of the mark. The variety, plentiful fish choices, and often unique executions make the evening fun. The wines are well selected and the suggestions have always been fine.

Very surprised the ratings are so low on Trip Advisor. This is one of the best restaurants in Bethesda - love it both for business lunches and for romantic dinners or date night in the bar. Very sophisticated, classy interior and a terrific outside modern dining patio. Food is fantastic.
