From the moment we walked in the door the service was exceptional, from the hostess who greeted and seated us to the head waiter and assistant wait staff. All were professional and gracious throughout. So polite and accommodating. Just lovely. My husband and I ordered food to share for the evening starting with the octopus appetizer, followed by a single... More

Pleasant surprise to find middle eastern restaurant here in which the chef created unique dishes derived from traditional well known fare. The appetizers were great and could have constituted the entire meal. My partner loved the branzini. I had the vegetable ganging which was nice but I could have been just as satisfied with the appetizers as I am vegetarian... More

The food was interesting, fresh, and delicious, but the outstanding service made it special. Nice wine list and good selection of small plates. Larger dishes are big enough to share.

Have eaten at Saffron on several occasions, great small plates and apps with some select entrees available weekly. It is Mediterranean/ Palestinian and not North African so a bit confused by a couple of the reviews. The service is top notch and it certainly is not cheap, but you get plenty for the money. Usually a couple of interesting beers... More

Brothers Saed & Sameh Wadi are masters at their craft. They have gotten countless awards and Chef Sameh has been a semifinalist for James Beard awards twice, including right now in 2013. And there is good reason. The food is inspired from all over the Mediterranean, but with a focus on Morocco. The menu is full of amazing treats. They... More

The ambiance was nice even service was very good. There is always someone filling our water. This is definitely high-end. But I must say the flavors are definitely not authentic. The chef definitely put his own twists on the menu. The duck meatballs, suggesting a Moroccan kofta in tomato sauce, was way far off the original home- made flavor. It... More

Order the sangria and let your taste buds open up for the first time. The food is equally as tasty.. The spices are the key to the experience in your mouth.

A great restaurant, with interesting and tasty dishes. Service very friendly and informative, place was a little loud for our tastes. As appetizers, try the croquettes, spicey bulger burgers, bastirma, and spicey octopus. All excellent. The veggie and fish tangines were excellent, but the sauce for the veggie one was a little heavy. Lamb terrine also good, but not excellent,... More

My girlfriend and I were very excited to dine in the cities last weekend. We drove down from Duluth for a post Valentine's Day date. The host had our table ready a good time ahead of our reservation. Service was the perfect balance between formal/informative and friendly/relaxed. We ordered 8 appetizers and asked the server to course them for us.... More

Saffron turned out to be a great place for a fun Saturday night dinner with friends visiting the Twin Cities from out of town. Having recently moved to Minneapolis, I had not yet found a Mediterraanean style restaurant, and now I need to look no further. This was a nice departure from the standard bread-salad-dinner-dessert dining experience. We primarily ordered... More
