This place was wonderful. While a bit pricey for the smaller city of Rochester, the food was top notch, with great fresh seafood (which I was told was flown in daily). Interesting menu, with a variety of options. I was impressed with the blue cheese mashed potatoes and the scallop dish. The smoked salmon cakes were also pretty creative as... More

After a couple visits to Rochester recently and sampling the local flavor / restaurants - this was our favorite. It has a great atmosphere that lends itself to hearing the other person across from you while you dine and the servers were very attentive and helpful with the menu. We sampled several dishes, including the fish sandwich (which is ENORMOUS... More

Mostly sub sandwich type places all over but this place had BBQ brisket. Yum! Don't go if there is a line and you don't know the menu. You have to move quickly through, very small place but has outside dining. Obvious the locals went in and out in no time they knew what they wanted. Overall very good.

I LOVE the ambience in this "big city" restaurant packed into smaller downtown Rochester. I live in Chicago and it feels like Chicago to me from the decor to the menu. A WONDERFUL menu, nice staff and great service. MMMMM. The Curry dish I get every single time. I am craving it NOW back home.. I try to go here... More

Where does all the hype about this restaurant come from? I'm usually not the type of person to post poor reviews but my experience with this restaurant has not been good. The service was inexcusably poor. We were there for two hours and we had only ordered salads. Our drinks didn't get refilled once either. We even had to ask... More

We've had to travel to the Mayo Clinic on 3 different occasionas and have visited the City Cafe each time. I just love their Chicken enchiladas made with crepes. So very good! My husband has tried other items and they were good also but I go back for the chicken enchiladas. The atmosphere is fun and it's a great place... More

Maybe it's because we ate here on a Sunday night but it didn't measure up to the other reviews. They were very nice in accomodating our disabled child which was very much appreciated. This is a comfortable restaurant which has good quality food but nothing special. Their wine list is disappointing - very little to choose from and rather low-average... More

Comfortable , well spaced booths and tables, excellent food, attentive knowledgeable servers. The bread and garlic and olive oil pesto are so good that it's easy to over do before your meal arrives. I dine here whenever I'm in town. This time I had tomato and basil soup and a grouper entree. Excellent.

My wife and I dined at City Cafe on a Monday night. Overall, a great place that I would highly recommend. We shared one of the daily specials (breaded and fried red snapper with Andouille sausage hash), as well as tuna tacos with a mango salsa. It was obvious that all if the seafood was fresh, and hadn't come out... More

We visited the City Café after a long day at Mayo Clinic. The food was great and they were able to get us in and out in the time that we required. We ordered the Chicken Satay Lettuce Wraps and the Scallops. The lettuce wraps were delicious. The scallops were good, but they would have been great had the apple... More
