My husband and I went here for dinner as we were staying overnight at a B&B in Stillwater. The food was wonderful! I had the stuffed trout and my husband had the pork chop - delicious! The atmosphere is very loud and the tables are quite close together so it was difficult for my husband and I to hold a... More

Four of us came for my husbands birthday. Two kids... age 8, 9 and then two adults. I really enjoyed my walleye... probably the best I have had. My husband thought his pork tenderloin was good too although not raving but good. The kids menu is really lacking compared to the adult choices but perhaps they are trying to keep... More

I would have never found Phil's Tara if not for Trip Advisor! There were 6 of us celebrating a 25th anniversary...from the moment we walked in the door we were "hooked". The server greeted us like we were old friends. I'm glad we went at 830 on a Friday night. Our waitress was also great. A few of us had... More

I have been to there to eat a few times with friends and family, and no one has ever had anything they didn’t truly love. I personal love the Greek platter; it is a meal for two or dinner and lunch for the next day. My one word of advice is to get there early or make a reservation, because... More

We regularly go through Stillwater, but Phil's Tara Hideaway is indeed hidden away and we would likely have not discovered it except for it's high ranking by other Trip Advisors. We tried it a couple of times, and really like it. The menu is interesting, with a Mediterranean/Greek undertone but enough variety to satisfy all. The food tastes fresh and... More

By far the best laid back/reasonably priced dining restaurant on the east side of the twin cities. I've tried many different dishes there and they are always wonderful to the taste buds. My wife and I's favorite anniversary destination!! It does get a little crowded around the dinner hour, but if you can go there a little later, we find... More

Excellent food excellent service!! Will definetly be going back on a regular basis. This place must be a gold mine and makes me want to change the menu at my Italian restaurant.

Our favorite place to go. Yes, it can be a bit cramped, but if you want a terrific meal at a reasonable price, Phil's is the place.

My review is from a family meal at Phil's Tara Hideaway on New Year's Eve. We decided to start a new family tradition this year: Dress everyone up and have a meal together before our oldest daughter headed out with friends for the evening. I wouldn't venture out on New Year's Eve if we had a young family but our... More

My second time here. Besides having a very interesting, "cool" ambience, this historic restaurant serves up very good food. This time we tried the gyros which were good, the burger made from a mix of angus, chuck, and spare rib which was very good indeed, and the French fries which were hand-cut and tasted great (crispy too). The shrimps were... More
