We heard the food was good so we decided to check it out Sunday. We were led to a table and given brunch menus which had a limited number of items, but enough that we each found something to try. We got our drinks right away. The waitress eventually came back to take our food order (sandwiches). We waited about... More

We have been to Cara four times now and have been happy with the food - for the most part. I have had the steak twice and each time it was tender, perfectly cooked and delicious. I have also tried the lamb stew (delicious), and the black and tan chicken (good). I have tried bites of my companions food as... More

Sometimes you just want a different experience than the chain restaurants everywhere. This fit the bill. The building had been renovated and looked great. We had a raised booth, we really liked, it seemed more private and there was lots of space. We all enjoyed our appetizers, entrees and desserts, and could share a conversation with music playing in the... More

We've been to Cara's 4 or 5 times and have been very satisfied every time. The drink selection is interesting, the food is varied and reasonably priced. Even the appetizers can serve as a light meal. The atmosphere and service are very pleasant. Our only criticism is that sometimes the live music is so loud (downstairs) you can't carry on... More

Loved it! Amazing food, great live Irish bands, they actually know how to make drinks, and wonderful prices. I've enjoyed upstairs and down depending on the mood you are in. Good for all ages.

We went for an early dinner with my children. The food was very good but I did not find the atmosphere kid friendly. I am sure this is a great pace to grab a few drinks and a meal.

After going to Cara several times for drinks and music, we decided to have dinner there. I had the bangers and mash, and my fiance had a burger. I'm not sure that his burger was anything special, but I loved my entree! I have always loved their atmosphere and find their raised booths to be very cozy. They have live... More

had just opened but friendly, welcoming service spells a bright future. Already enjoying a nice local reputation for a low key pub like atmosphere for the older than college age crowd.

not my first visit to Cara and unfortunately I could tell that there had obviously been a change in the kitchen, the staff confirmed that the original chef had left and that shows as the food is now poorly presented, poorly cooked, my black pudding was frozen in the middle and completely inedible, the staff are argumentative and share their... Come to Cara for a surprisingly comfortable and and spacious Irish Pub here in Dover. Fairly new, they have done all kinds of renovations to the building, opening up the space by moving the preexisting stairway to the side and adding different lounge, dining and performance areas. This is a great place to sit by the bar and listen to... More
