The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The food cheap but ok. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. Coming from Australia we enjoyed the experience of an American diner.
Went on a Friday night for a quick dinner, was a little annoyed by the fact that they don't have a menu available, you have to order from the 5-7 items on the specials board. Most of them were pretty pricey. We had kids with us, and the waitress did provide a kid's menu when I asked her about it.... More
Ate here for breakfast. Ordered 2 eggs over-medium, came out less than over-easy and runny. Gross. Had a homemade muffin, very very dry to say the least. Waited for quite a while for food and it wasn't all that busy. Could be a little more generous on the beans, small container didn't go far. I'm a local, won't rush back.... More
We've been to George's many times and highly recommend it for single folks, couples, families, large groups -- pretty much anyone who enjoys comfort food. We went there a week or two ago with our daughter, son-in-law and three young grandkids. There was something for everyone. There's a great kids' menu and the kids' meals come with a free beverage.... Great comfort food at a very, very reasonable price. After much trial and error I finally realized that the best place to dine is where the locals dine. In Meredith, George's Diner is that place. Go and I promise, you will not be disappointed.
If you are in the area, do not miss this place for breakfast or lunch. If nothing else, the home made raisin bread would make it worthwhile. Unusually open and airy for a diner and also has seating outside on the porch. Very clean. Waitresses are friendly and efficient. Good coffee. We had omelets, eggs up, corned beef hash (homemade)... On a side street from DWH, but worth it. Love the food and service. Good, honest diner food that's very reasonably priced. Love sitting outside on the porch under the old trees. V
Great breakfast and lunch. Home made bread, awesome omelets(spinach, tomato and mushroom with swiss). Great grilled chicken sandwich and homemade fries.Fair prices. This place is the best in the area for breakfast and lunch. I have not had dinner here. The manager has been here for a while and she does a great job.
The food, service and atmosphere is always great. It's small and very busy. The staff work hard getting good food fast with great service. The all you can eat fish fry is unbelievably super. The freshest seafood around. They don't make you sit around and wait for more fish. Most servings is too much to even think about asking for... More
Food was good and reasonably priced. Very busy place even during the week. We got there early enough to get a seat in the main dining room, it was chilly in the outside patio room. Nothing fancy, homemade meals.
