Whenever I come home to Portsmouth, I make sure I include Annabelle's on my list of things to do. They have the best ice cream in such a cute little shop. In California my favorite ice cream was Baskin-Robbins' Jamocha Almond Fudge. Here in NH, it's Annabelle's Mocha Almond Fudge frozen yogurt... and it's way better, with more almonds per square millimeter than any ice cream or frozen yogurt I've ever had.

I've had the joy of eating Annabelle's ice cream since they opened in 1982. Tight downtown on Ceres Street, near the tugboats (they're real, not an attraction!), this little place offers an amazing array of delicious flavors. I had a raspberry chocolate chip this time...that's raspberry ice cream, not sorbet. And creamy it is! They do carry sorbet and yogurt... More

This is the ice cream you want to eat! In town but around the bend so you need to look for it - definitely worth eating!

As a self-proclaimed ice cream connoisseur I have had ice cream, gelato, kulfi, helado (very different from our American dairy treat) and the likes. Annabelle's has the novelty of being really the only ice cream shop in Portsmouth that offers any real variety of decently made homemade flavors. Again, good but not great! This place is a mainstay of the Portsmouth waterfront. The staff is super friendly and the ice cream (the chocolate at least) is awesome. My wife and I drive up to Portsmouth several times a year and this place is always on the hit list.

“The ONLY Place for Ice Cream in Portsmouth!”

You can't find a better spot for delicious ice cream in town. The flavors are rich and varied, portions are good, and service is generally quick and friendly. We've been enjoying Annabelle's for many years, and it never disappoints!

Annabelle's was a late night stop for us and we loved it. The flavor choices are overwhelming. The small portion was generous and very satisfying. The location is nice and convenient. Service was outstanding!

Annabelle's is a staple of downtown Portsmouth. Portions are generous and the ice cream is local and delicious. Just remember to bring cash!
