I've been the Hula Grill many times and like just about everything on the menu. Expect it to be busy, the off season is the best time to go. The prices are high but I guess is to be expected when on the boardwalk.

We are in OC for the MS150 bike tour. I found Hula on Yelp while trying to find something near our B&B. hula is tucked into an alcove next to the mini golf on the boardwalk. I had firecracker shrimp and Paul had crabcakes. Fantastic flavor and quality. We will definitely come back. It's cash only.

Unusual for a boardwalk eatery to have such a nice selection of fish, etc dishes...all served with delicious salad and sticky rice. We go here for the Maui with Mango salsa....mmm heading there tonight!

I was pretty excited to try the Hula after all the positive reviews. All I can say is, "meh". The island chicken breast I had was dried and "blackened" (ie burnt) and the famous "sticky rice" was, I believe, white rice that had been cooked so long it just clumped together (not like the Kohuho Rose sushi rice). Not your typical boardwalk food: tasty fish, shrimp and scallops. The service was super friendly and fast, the main courses were great and sides were devoured.
