After Le Cocotier couple of days ago we decided to try The Palm Tree just 50 m away from La Veranda gate. The atmosphere is relaxing, the dining room spacious. We ordered Vietnamese and western food. My wife, Vietnamese, was not happy with the Vietnamese food. "Tasteless" she rated. She thinks western people might like it. I ordered deep fried... More

We ate dinner here in April 2013. The fresh spingrolls were great, as was the fried chicken in tamarind sauce. Nice vegetables to go with it. It was very good value compared to other places around (just across the road from La Veranda Resort). Would recommend this place to anyone that wants some great local food.

Not big fans of our hotel's restaurant down the road and after being very disappointed by the night market, we ate at Palm Tree quite frequently. We sampled quite a spectrum of the menu and were consistently pleased. No one thing blew us away, but nothing even remotely disappointed either. Their calamari was probably the most tender we ate while... More

If you're staying at La Veranda, this is few yards from the entrance, so great for a cheap, tasty meal. I can particularly recommend the fried fish with Phu Quoc pepper sauce.

Delicious and well priced. Good selection to choose from. We shared a range of prawns, squid, rice and spring rolls. Located near La Veranda.

They have rooms for rent and that was how we ended up there. We booked a superior bungalow which was neither superior nor a bungalow. The rooms (ours was 104) were more like one room town houses with little patios. The room was very basic (AC, TV, fridge) with window. But the windows doesn't have any glass and as soon... More

We have been coming to The Palm Tree for three years and are just as pleased as the first time. Now on our last visit to the island we have been going there at least three times a week and will definitely be back on our next visit to Vietnam. This is a family run restaurant (now with rooms for... More

Restaurant and kitchen are very clean. The food is tasty and inexpensive. A nice alternative to the beach front restaurants. We ate twice down at the beach in two different restaurants and had stomach problems afterwards. I went to palm tree restaurant for breakfast twice and for dinner three times and liked the food and service there. Ok, the light... More

Fresh seafood and in particular squid on the BBQ was excellent and extremely reasonable price wise. On a couple of days we asked them to buy giant (non-farmed) prawns from the market and cook to our liking and it was superb. Basic surroundings but clean and fresh food. Wine a bit lacking (understandably) but the Vietnam red wine in an... More

The restaurant is run by a family. The surroundings are not much, no sea view, and the place, decor is simple. However, the young wife speaks English (!), and the food was excellent!!! We had crab soup, pumpkin soup, BBQ squid, BBQ fish with lemon, crab rice and they were all delicious. But what was more than delicious, and words... More
