Restaurant is old - for me, an enjoyable place. The interior is dated, which I found charming. Stroll around and check out the photos & stuff hanging on the walls while waiting for your food...The waitress was super fun - friendly and personable, and that always makes me enjoy a place. The food had a "home made" taste; desserts were... More

Long-time family owned restaurant. My husband and I ate there twice during our stay in Raton. We were the only couple in the place, but we eat early (around 6:00-6:30). The restaurant is old, worn and dark. Looks like it used to be a fairly large supper club with a long bar. The food was average. The waitress was friendly.... More

Great green chile cheeseburger and french fries. Nice to find a locally owned restaurant in the midst of all the chains here in Raton.

Based on some reviews, we tried this place for supper while in Raton, but were not too impressed. The service was friendly, but seemed a bit slow especially given that we were one of only three tables occupied in the restaurant, which was a bit dark and dated. They apparently had a full in bar in earlier times, but they... More

A local joint owned by the same family for 78 years, coming from the old coal town of Dawson. Had lunch and the food quality was quite good

Good food in an out of the way place, You have to get off the interstate to enjoy this landmark restaurant, but it is well worth it.

Pappas' reminded me of the restaurants my parents used to take me to when we "dined out" back in the 50's, so it should come as no surprise to find this family owned restaurant has been in business since well before then, providing good food and friendly service since folks tooled through town on Route 66. New Mexico.org has a... More

Pappas' Sweet Shop is a long time staple in Raton. The founder immigrated from Greece and opened a candy shop that expanded and eventually changed into the restaurant that it is today, which is still owned and operated by the Pappas family. The cover of the menu has the entire story and much of the decor is made up of... More
