The best ice cream in the area! I absolutely love their cookies and cream shake... I could eat it every day!

It's your basic roadside stand. Nothing fancy. Ice cream is worth the stop. Service is fast, but it can get very crowded. Best to stop off-peak hours.

The line is always long but worth the wait. They have so many flavors to choose from. Pricing is fair for the great quality of ice cream.

They take ice cram in mix in whatever you like. They have flavor suggestions. I went with Boston cream pie. Did not see what they mixed in (using an auger like machine) but it tasted great. I asked for a small and it was big - really. Not cheap, like $3.75 for a small bowl, but not overly expensive considering... More

We stopped at The Penguin by chance. What a lucky stop. The ice cream flavors are so interesting and fun. Our favorites were key lime pie and s'mores. We went one afternoon and then stopped again on our way out of town the next morning. The employees are patient as first-timers try to figure it all out. Luckily, we don't... More

Penguin has amazing custom flavors of ice cream. The marshmellows on the bottom of the cone is genius. On my 4 night trip to cooperstown I ate at penguin 3 times

They have just about every flavor you can imagine. They take a block of ice cream and then add whatever flavor you want. The apparatus they use to combine the ingredients looks like a giant drill. It churns out a soft serve masterpiece. We always stop there at least twice during the Dreamspark baseball week.

terrific ice cream -- similar to a cold stone but seemingly more homemade -- starts with ice cream base (vanilla or chocolate) and then mix in what you like! found the Junior size to be pleasant. there can be a line.......
