There are lots of diners around, but Croton Colonial stands out for the quality and value of their food. they have a huge list of specials - greek, Italian, good old American pot roast for instance - that come with fresh vegetables as sides. All has lots of flavor. Service is fast and friendly.

There are lots of diners up and down 9A, but this one is the best all around. Good food, friendly if a bit rushed service (it is a diner, after all), and the owner and his family keep a close eye on everything.
