Excellent, by Hamilton standards. By SF standards or any other foodie city I'd say it's good and worth the trip. Nice wines. I've eaten here twice and it was quite nice both times.

This charming, warm and restored old general stored is tucked away in the tiny hamlet of Poolville, New York. This little hamlet is near Colgate University and was the home of world famous pianist, Vivian Harvey Slater.
The Poolville Country store not only is comprised of the restaurant, but also has several other out buildings and an absolutely wonderful little...

Outside of Hamilton in the quaint 4-corners of Poolville. Delicious everything. Attention to detail. Local ingredients. Quality.
I recently dined there with a group of friends. We had all been there before and had enjoyed that visit. Generally, our recent meal was good. The problem is that it was good...not great. The pear tart appetizer was almost like a dessert rather than an appetizer. People generally enjoyed their entrees. However, those who got the steak special found...

An absolutely superb dining experience in every way, but especially for Central New York. This small, quiet restaurant is an absolute gem. The first thing you will notice when you walk in -a necessity in CNY- is the warmth and coziness of the interior. Escaping the cold winter weather, the dining room welcomes you with a roaring wood-burning fireplace and...

Local beef carpaccio, corn chowder, pear tart, opah, champagne. Too full for dessert, but choices great. Walk in fireplace was aglow and several other tables enjoying dinner, very efficient service. My wife and I thought this was our best meal thus far. We look forward to having a lovely dinner here every time we are in Hamilton.
"Poolville Country Store Resturant" needs to be put on your "just can't miss list". The resturant is a 1800's building impeckably clean and well maintained. The atmosphere is a walk back in time. It has a huge walk in size fireplace. the atmosphere is charming and peaceful. the food is the very best i've had in a very long time....

We had our seven year old with us and felt as welcome as when it is just the adults. Thank you for another lovely meal! I am a soup fanatic and enjoy the creations you have, as well as the entire meal.
A hidden gem near Colgate University. Gourmet food. Great atmosphere. Professional service. Nice wine list. The menu features local produce, and natural meats free of antibiotics and hormones. We thoroughly enjoyed the escargots in puff pastry and lemon tarragon chicken. Though we didn't save room for a decadent dessert, we enjoyed the chocolate truffle that accompanied the check.
This restaurant came highly recommended, but our experience didn't live up to the hype. Quality of the appetizers were uneven. The Calamari was tasty with an interesting polynesion glaze, and very tender too! The crab cakes were really over-powered with minced red pepper, and tasted bready, although the texture was agreeably light and crumbly. Our entres were an even bigger...
